RAVEN

I putmy dress on when Roman Cardenas enters the bathroom. Poised, eyes glinting, sharp clothes falling over his body.

“It’s done,” he confirms, sliding his phone into his pocket.

He looks at me while crossing his arms over his chest.

I hold his eyes but not for long before he dips his gaze and gives me a once-over.

“If things don’t work with them, call me,” he says curtly, business-like.

“I will,” I answer.

It will never happen.

Roman would break me and leave me for the dead before moving to the next woman. He’d be the end of me, and not in a good way.

It was interesting tonight.

What am I saying? It was more than interesting, educative and all, but under normal circumstances, this would be a crazy ride.

Not that it hasn’t been with Kai, Alejandro, and Francisco.

But Kai has a lot of humanity in him. Alejandro can be the perfect man for the right woman. And Francisco might write an entire book of pleasure in a woman’s life.

Cardenas?

He’d draw me into one of the most sinful and dark dungeons of pleasure. And he hasn’t even touched my brain.

I don’t know how the women in his life survive his charm, bluntness, and lack of emotions.

“Is there any way I could get out of here alone?” I ask.

He studies me fleetingly.

“They already left,” he announces, and my eyebrows flick up.

“They did what?”

He nods, unfolding his arms and retrieving his phone from his pocket. He checks something on the screen.

“When?”

“Shortly after walking out of the room.”

“How? Did they swim all the way back? Used a lifeboat? Visual distressed signals?”

“A ship picked them up and my guests.”

“I cannot believe them. Did they just abandon me here?”

“No, they didn’t. Nothing bad can happen when you’re with me.”

He sounds very reassuring.

Still, I find the news disturbing.
