“Very funny!” I pouted while folding my arms.

“Even your attitude is sexy.”

“Flattery will not get you out of trouble, Raph.”

“I’m not worried about this trouble that you speak of.”

“I bet.” I huffed. He was in control of this game. Not me. As much as I didn’t want to admit that I was enjoying it just as much as it irritated me, I was more in tune with him now than before.

Raphael removed the blindfold, and I blinked against the light.

“Tell me you aren’t stunning?”

There was a huge wall mirror in front of me that not only gave me a view of how nice I looked but also how hot he looked in his suit. He was behind me, but I could see enough. And pressed kisses along my exposed shoulder and arms weren’t helping.

“I can’t say that.” The dress was sequined from my breast to the floor where the train ended. It fit to the knee and then flared slightly all the way to the floor. My silver shoes peeked out from underneath, adding even more elegance to the dress. “Raphael, you’ve really done it this time. I just… I don’t know what to say.”

“Maybe by the end of the night, you’ll know.” He smiled, pleased at something that I didn’t quite understand or see. He lifted the blindfold again, and I froze. “We have to get going.”

“Don’t I get to put on makeup?” I looked at his reflection in the mirror for confirmation.

“No, I don’t understand you women and your silly fascination with that stuff.”

“You don’t understand?” I put my hand on my hip. “We do it for you men.”

“Like I said… Je ne sais pas.”

“How long have you been waiting to use that on me?” I asked. It was my favorite phrase, after all.

“Uh… Three years?” He smiled that charming smile of his melting away the sass that was coming his way.

“Can I have lip gloss?” I asked.

“Ok.” He shrugged.

I went for my purse to find it empty. He pointed to a silver clutch that matched my shoes. They had transferred all of my things over, and I found my gloss easy enough. He watched as I applied it with an arched eyebrow.

“Yes?” I asked.

“You can put that stuff on any time you want.”

It was my turn to laugh. “Why is that?”

“It makes your lips look… what’s the word? Luscious.”

I shook my head while smiling at the crazy fool. I replaced the gloss inside my clutch and walked back over to Raphael.

“Ready.”

I wasn’t, though. I did not know what I was about to experience. There was no way that I could have known that the next time he would remove that blindfold, we would be in a private capsule in the London Eye, having the most romantic dinner I could ever have dreamed of.

There was a 360-degree view of London, including an amazing view of the River Thames. There was champagne, chocolate, and even red roses and teddy bears. I’d completely forgotten that today was Valentine’s Day until we were here. And I knew that I’d never be able to forget this night. It was too special to let go of the memory.

Raphael held me while we looked over the city from our small slice of heaven. And though we were completely alone in here, we were connected to the entire city, too. I could try to capture this moment with pictures that could only remind me of what I saw. But how I felt was something that couldn’t be replicated with a photo. This was a stolen moment that you had to experience to believe it. You had to feel how I did, right now, to truly understand how very special this night was.

I turned in his arms so that I could look into his eyes. I could only hope that he understood exactly what I felt right now. Even a small sliver of knowledge would do.

“Raphael, this has been an amazing night. From the dress to experiencing something so wonderful… I don’t even know how I’d thank you for the best Valentine’s Day I’ve ever had.”
