JACK (JORKAN)

Being kicked by Lily at full power had been one hell of a shock. Not to mention excruciatingly painful as she broke nearly all my ribs. I couldn’t pinpoint the internal injuries, but I knew they were there.

Thank the Devil I healed fast. Even faster when injured by her. Maybe it was the same way that her injuries healed quickly from us.

And as she was nearly in tears at wounding me, all I could think of was how beautiful she was. Especially considering all that worry and sincere care was for me.

And then I’d kissed her. I wasn’t sure what had come over me, but I just had to.

It just felt so right and perfect, holding her in my arms and pressing my lips to hers.

I wanted to kiss her more, but I didn’t want to freak her out, especially when she’d said I was her first kiss.

I’d never really thought about it, perhaps I’d assumed that before we’d come into her life at fourteen, maybe she’d had a boyfriend.

But apparently not.

We’d headed inside, finding most of the other students in the leisure room. We stopped holding hands before we entered the room, and I felt guilty for letting her hand go.

But I didn’t want to upset the others, and I didn’t know how she really felt on the whole thing.

We were brothers, and keeping her safe and happy was all that mattered to me, but there was more I wanted, and I knew the others felt it too.

We discovered that amazingly, Xander hadn’t said a word except to inform the others that there was no cause for alarm, it was just some training.

Something I found a little odd for him, but I shrugged it off.

“Hey, still on for Netflix?” Chumley asked as he headed over with Bug in tow.

“Of course,” Lily bobbed her head eagerly, but she shot me an odd glance which didn’t go unnoticed.

Creeper was nowhere to be seen, so I could only assume he was playing piano like usual.

“Sweet, will be great,” Chumley beamed as Bug glanced between the two of us.

“How was training?” he asked as we all began walking back to her room. Lily stayed close to me, and I couldn’t help but be delighted by her nearness.

“Well, she kicked my ass, sent me flying once she focused on her power,” I explained, and she grimaced.

“I hurt him,” she mumbled.

“I healed, I’m fine,” I assured Bug and Chum as they frowned at me. “She needs to learn.”

“That’s awesome though,” Chum lit up once more, and Lily managed a startled smile as Bug agreed.

“Just need to focus on it more, you’ll be the best of everyone before you know,” Bug said enthusiastically.

“I doubt that,” she snorted.

“I think you will be,” I murmured, and her smile softened.

“Look out world, Lily is coming to kick some ass,” chum laughed, and Bug snickered.

I could only smile as Lily remained humble. But I couldn’t be prouder of her. She really had come a long way already.

I ended up in the library after leaving Chum and Bug with Lily in her room, and now I was flicking through the romance books I’d been studying. I wanted to do this right with Lily, I wanted her to feel special and important. I smiled stupidly as I reminisced on our kiss, on how she’d relaxed against me and kissed me back.
