She quickly snatches her hand away. “I never said I didn’t want it. I just meant, are you sure?”

“Yes.” And I mean it. I’ve never been more certain of anything before in my life.

This is a big step in our relationship, but it’s one I’m taking without any doubts. Giving her the key to my home seems so natural, considering she already holds the key to my heart.

“Thank you.” She looks up at me, her smile filled with nothing but delight.

“Welcome home,” I whisper, kissing the tip of her nose. Wishing I could stay, I sigh and gently kiss her lips. “I’ll give you a call once I’m done.”

“Okay.”

“Have fun. Don’t let Hunter corrupt you while I’m gone.”

She smirks. “I’m sure he’ll be too busy trying to corrupt Lamb.”

I turn over my shoulder to look at Hunter, who clutches his chest over his heart. “Lamb? It’s meant to be. Hunter and the lamb.”

“Yeah, but in this circumstance, you’re the lamb.”

Madison laughs while Hunter shrugs. “I’m okay with that.”

The mood has lightened, which makes leaving a little easier. “On that note, I better get going. I’ll see you later.”

“Hurry back. I miss you already,” Madison whispers, crushing my resolve.

God only knows I don’t want to go, but with no other choice, I kiss her lips briefly. I nibble on her bottom lip before pulling away. She whimpers low, her eyes slowly opening. “I’ll see you soon,” I affirm, kissing her forehead, not wanting to let her go. But I have to.

“Okay. Bye.”

Saying goodbye shouldn’t be this hard, but it is. And that’s because a small part of me knows that what I’m doing is wrong. I can make all the excuses I want, but I’m leaving Madison to go see Juliet. Go see Juliet do only God knows what.

Pushing aside my guilt, I grow a pair and turn around to face Hunter. “Look after my girl.” He nods, understanding the double meaning.

I walk out the door, unsure of what I’m walking into.

Thump.

Thump.

Thump.

My short, sharp knocks reflect my mood.

“Why, hello.” Juliet smiles as she opens the door. I don’t even bother replying and stroll past her, my hands dug deep in my pockets.

When the door closes behind me, I put on my game face and swallow down my disgust at being here. “So I’ve chosen. What do you want?”

I keep my back turned because the sheer slip she’s wearing answers the question for me. “Well, I’m home alone. I’d hate to waste this opportunity.”

I close my eyes in distaste when I feel her fingernail run down the side of my neck. “Indeed,” I reply when I trust my voice not to betray my abhorrence.

“I’ve missed this between us, Dixon. I’ve been thinking a lot about what you said about Dylan. It’s true. Things are not what I thought they would be. He used to fuck me with such vigor, and now he can barely get it up. He’s not a real man like you are.” She presses into my back as she slides her hand to my front.

I remain still, keeping my breathing under control. As she glides her fingers lower and lower, I feel my humanity evaporating with every touch. And when she reaches my crotch and begins massaging, my brain and body become two separate entities. But this is exactly what I had hoped for. Groping aside, I wanted to break down her person, chip away her confidence until she was mine to control.

I haven’t figured out what I’ll do once I’ve achieved total domination because, honestly, I wasn’t sure if it would work. Butit has. She’s played into my palms—but sadly, her palms are the ones doing the playing.

My dick has absolutely no interest in coming out to play, and my apathy gives me an idea. Stilling her hand with mine, I draw it away from me. Turning around with an unhurried, calculated speed, I stop to face her.
