Iglanced at the officer who stepped into my cell. “You—with me,” he ordered, holding the cell door opened.

I grunted and pushed myself off my cot, following him out of the tiny room. I kept to myself and kept my head down; all the guards knew that. Some fuckers had tried getting a rise out of me my first couple of months here, but that shit quickly stopped when they realized I had people on the inside.

I never had to lift a damn finger.

We went down a few halls, and he pushed open a door into a wider, nicer hallway.

“The fuck is going on?” I demanded to know.

“You’re being released,” Agent Relics said to me as he stepped out of an office. “Got you a better deal. Just need you to read through it and sign some paperwork.”

I knew I was supposed to see Hayley today, but fuck, if I could get out of here and be with her permanently, then fuck it. She could be upset with me, but this would be a much better alternative than having a table between us and not even getting to touch her.

Imissedtouching her. Every time I saw her, her belly had been bigger. I’d even seen Raine move a few times, and I just wanted to cradle her belly, feel our little girl move, fucking hold my woman. And I hadn’t been allowed any of those privileges.

It took me a good forty-five minutes to read through all of the paperwork with my attorney, and once he okayed everything, I signed my name at the bottom. I had to finish the rest of my sentence on probation, but fuck, I got to be home. Probation was a damn small price to pay.

Agent Relics handed me a bag that contained my personal items. “I suggest you hurry and change. Quinn called and said your woman is giving birth.”

I grinned and quickly rushed to the bathroom he directed me to, changing into my clothes. My shirt was a bit tight from working out so much while I’d been inside, but it was a small discomfort that I’d gladly deal with for right now.

When I gotto the hospital, I quickly got directions to Hayley’s room. She’d already given birth and was currently in a maternity room to recover. Quinn was standing outside the door when I walked up. He arched a brow at me. “You’re out?”

I nodded at him. “Got early release. Agent Relics got me a better deal. Just got to serve the remainder of my sentence on probation.” I grabbed the handle to her room. “She okay?”

He nodded. “She’s sleeping, and I needed a breather. Watching a woman give birth is exhausting.”

I shook my head and clapped a hand to his shoulder, barely biting back a snort. If he thought it was exhausting just watching, the pain she had to have been in had to be crippling. “Thank you for being here with her and taking care of her while I’ve been gone.”

He shook his head. “She’s family, Miles. Never have to thank me.” I nodded once, appreciative of that.

I slipped into the room, my gaze instantly falling on her. Her lips were settled in a small pout, her face relaxed as she slept. Her belly was still a bit rounded, most likely from her uterus being stretched. But God, she was still the most beautiful woman I’d ever seen in my life.

I walked over to the bed and gently ran my fingers over her cheek. Her lashes fluttered, and then her eyes opened.

“Miles?” she whispered, like she couldn’t believe it was me. She swallowed thickly, her hand covering mine on her cheek. “Are you really here?” she croaked, tears flooding her pretty eyes.

I nodded. “I’m home, baby.”

She sobbed and sat up, throwing her arms around my neck. I slanted my lips across hers, my entire body relaxing in her hold.

I was home.

EPILOGUE

Miles

Hayley scowled at me as Quinn and I brought a table into our new house, bumping it on the door frame. “Can you not fuck up the furniture?” she asked.

“When’s the last time you got laid?” Quinn asked her.

I for sure thought she was going to throw something at him, and I had to bite back a smile.

“Go fuck yourself, Quinn.”

I snickered and gently set the table on the floor in the dining room. Then, I grasped her face in my hands and pressed my lips to hers. “Woman, just go sit down and chill, yeah? Stop fretting so much.” I rubbed my hand over her belly. “It’s not good for the little one.”
