From: Jamie…Jesus Stella. No.
I curl up into a ball and sob. Last night was so beautiful and then today I woke up and everything has changed. He’s angry and detached. I can’t handle it. I know when we both go back home I’ll wonder every day if he’s fucking her. My days will be consumed with dark thoughts, wondering who he’s with and if she feels as good as he said I did.

CHAPTER 16
Jamie never came back. I guess this is how it will be going forward. He can’t handle this, knowing that we are on borrowed time. I miss him already. It was a rough night without him in my bed, smelling him on my sheets. It surprised me I didn’t hear from him at all. I wonder if he went to Kaitlyn again. I know he said he wouldn’t, but it’s how he relieves stress. God, I miss him.
To: Jamie… I missed you last night.
From: Jamie… Did you?
To: Jamie… Where did you spend the night last night?
From: Jamie… Jesus Stella. In my room. ALONE!
To: Jamie… We need to talk face to face.
From: Jamie… There’s nothing left to say, Stella. You said it all. We just have three chapters left to write and you’ll be free.
I stormed up to his room to talk to him. We are going to talk about this. He’s not just shutting me out. I knocked on his door. No answer. Was he lying to me? Is he really not there? Instantly I’m pissed, so pissed. Tears stream down my face as I realize he must have spent the night with her. I turned around to leave and there he was. He went to get freaking coffee. When did I turn into this person? I’m so insecure with him. He’s the most handsome man I’ve met and I can’t imagine how someone hasn’t already taken him.
“Baby, why are you crying?”
“Because you want nothing to do with me after all we’ve shared.”
He touches my face and kisses my forehead, “Oh Stella, that would never be true.”
Opening his door, he turns and glances at me smiling, “Come in, baby.”
He sets his coffee down and pulls me into his arms.
“You never came back.”
“This is really hard for me, Stella. I want to spend every moment with you until you say goodbye, but knowing it’s coming is destroying me. I just look at you and think of everything that I’m losing. I love you Stella.”
“Maybe we can try a long distance relationship? I don’t want to move to California but I can come to visit. I can try Jamie. I don’t know if it’ll work. I’m willing to try if you are.”
“Stella, I will try anything to be with you. The distance will be hard, but I think we can make it work. Just think how amazing it will be when we see each other. The sex will be extraordinary.”
He smiles his seductive smile.
“Jamie, if the sex were any more amazing I might actually explode.”
“Thank you, baby. God, I love you.”
“I want every night with you from now on until we leave.”
“Agreed.”
His lips collided with mine, kissing me passionately.
I deepen our kiss, showing him how I feel about him. Pulling his hair with the urgency I feel. I’ve only got a few days and we will be apart. Until then, I’m going to cherish every moment we have together.
