A knock at the door, I look over at Jamie, “Are you expecting someone?”

I get up so he can answer his door.

She ignores me. She’s waiting for Jamie to say something. It’s as if she can’t see me.

I watch Jamie, with wide eyes, almost like a wounded animal afraid of being attacked. She stands. Obedient skank that she is.

She touches his chest and I see red.
“I’ll see you in California like we talked about, Sir.”
She glares at me.

She leaves and I’m frozen with fear. Is she right? He ran to her at the first sign of trouble. I definitely will never be submissive like that. I wonder if he wishes I were.

I say nothing. I don’t know what I could say after that. He stands in front of me, “Please baby, say something.”
Tears ran down my face, “She’s right.”
