"I might be able to find the time," she murmured.

He nodded and grinned. "Great. Talk to you later, Mykie!"

He waved and jogged towards the door to the house. Mykie watched him go with a fond smile and sighed. If the thought of working out with her made him smile like that, she'd have to find the time now.

She turned back around in her seat, her smile dropping slightly when she caught Renly's look.

"You don't smile like that with me," he muttered.

"We'll talk about this another time, Renly. This definitely isn't the day for it," she said in a stern voice. The more he pushed her to admit her fondness for the rest of the boys, the more likely she was going to tell him where to stick it.

He took a step back from the car, his expression hardening slightly. "Fine."

She plastered a gentle smile on her face. "I promise. We'll talk about it the next time I see you all."

She grabbed her door and slammed it shut before he could respond. She turned to the side to dig in her bag, taking the moment to close her eyes and calm herself, but the tightness in her chest wouldn't lessened.

She grabbed her keys and put them in the ignition. She could feel her mind going on autopilot as she drove herself away from her worries at the moment. She knew she needed to talk to someone blunt and wouldn't hold back from telling her exactly what she needed to hear. She knew where she had to go, and let her car take her to her destination.

It was a twenty-minute drive before she got to where she needed to be. She drove into the parking lot below the apartments and parked as close to the elevator as she could get. It was only a few minutes more before she was fumbling with her keys in front of the door. She could have knocked, but she had a feeling no one would answer on the other side.

She finally grabbed the right key and pushed it into the lock, turning the doorknob slowly to not disturb anyone who might have been relaxing in the living room. Once she got inside, she heard soft moans coming from the living room. She almost turned around but shook her head. She needed to talk about her problems, and they wouldn't have a problem interrupting her on any other day.

She slipped her shoes off beside the door and padded through the apartment. "Dexter, I need to talk to..." She trailed off just as she realized that Dexter was on the couch with someone. She could only spot his head and his bare back as he was bent over his companion.

"I thought Jezebeth said she wasn't going home with you last night," Mykie said with a smirk.

"Mykie?" Dexter asked, leaning up and looking at her with a flushed face. Was he blushing? She'd walk into much more intimate scenes between him and the rare girl he spent his time with. Why would he blush when he was kissing Jez—

"Mykie?" A voice croaked as Dexter's companion leaned up enough to see over the back of the couch.

"Noah?"

Girl Talk

Noah and Mykie were frozen. She thought everything was going well with Jezebeth. She finally decided to stop playing games and to focus on Dexter. This…this complicated things.

"It’s not what it looks like," Noah said once his brain seemed to catch up with the situation.

"Dex, can I talk to you? Alone?" she said, pointing over her shoulder towards his bedroom. She tried her best to keep her voice level, not wanting to give anything away before she could get him alone.

He nodded in her direction before he leaned down and whispered something to Noah. Even in the quiet room, she couldn't hear what he said, but if Noah's blush was any indication, it wasn't a simple goodbye.

The older boy climbed off the couch and stretched his arms over head before he headed in Mykie's direction. Mykie's eyes were still focused on Noah's face when he reached her. She had so many questions. Who started it? Where would it have ended? How long had it been going on before she arrived?

Dexter placed a hand on the middle of her back and guided her towards his bedroom. She gestured with her fingers to Noah that she was watching him, and they'd talk later. She saw him gulp and she was satisfiedenough to turn back around. She'd deal with the first boy before ripping the other one apart.

She stood with her arms crossed as she waited for Dexter to shut the door. Once she heard the 'click' that signaled that they were alone, she let loose on him.

"What were you thinking?" she hissed, slapping his bare shoulder. "What the hell did I just walk in on?"

"Iwasn'tthinking," he sighed. "That’s the point."

"That’s the point?" she repeated, dropping her hand. "What are you talking about?"

"I'm saying that I'm tired of waiting for Jezebeth to make up her mind. That if shereallyhad any feelings for me, romantic or otherwise, she wouldn't be going from guy to guy. Noah is just...easier."

"You know better than I do how Jezebeth is. She's never had to do the whole 'feelings' thing before. The idea of being with you scares her." She winced internally, feeling like she was sharing a secret of Jezebeth, but she knew that Jezebeth had told him this before.
