I grab all my shit. In my mind I am also wondering if her youngest, Ryan, has decided to step into his brothers’ shoes. If I have to, I will end him too.

I’m coming baby. Screw anybody in my way.

Chapter 12

Kensie

Sitting alone in the dark is the hardest thing I have ever done. I’ve never been afraid of the dark before but now all I want is Tori. Tori, with his strong, tanned, arms wrapped around me. Protecting me. I need him. I am seriously hating myself right now. Why didn’t I tell him that I love him? Why did I fight it? I knew the second he slid his massive cock into me. Instead of being a bitch, I should have agreed with him.

He does this for a living he would know better than I what could happen. I should have listened when he was so frantic, when he was so upset that someone would do this.

But no, of course, I only thought about myself. I didn’t even think about our baby. What kind of mother am I going to be? Right now is not the time for all of these thoughts, but they are blowing through my brain. I don’t know why they’re manifesting now but all I know is that sitting alone in the dark is not good for me. It’s not good for our baby. It’s not good for anyone. I feel guilty as hell like this is all my fault even though rationally, I know that it isn’t. When I met him for the first time, I was only fourteen. I never thought a thing of it. I never realized I was saving myself for him, but I did, and I am so glad.

I am feeling sorry for myself when suddenly the door bursts open, letting in the light from the hallway.

Siobhan comes into the room, flipping the light on. I am proud of myself when I don’t flinch when I see the knife she is holding. The giant chef’s knife she is holding. I almost bust out laughing. The size of the knife is comical and completely unnecessary. It’s almost as if she has never done anything like this before. Bridget comes in next with a phone and a gun.

The air leaves my lungs in a whoosh.

“What’s going on?” I ask.

“We are making a proof of life video, but I want him to suffer a little.”

“He won’t. I promise.”

“You better hope he cares, girl. Otherwise, we have no use for you or your baby.”

“How did you know?” I ask shocked before I can even think to stop myself.

“I’ve had five children. You think I don’t know the signs?”

“What signs?” I ask. I just want to keep her talking.

“The little belly pooch mostly. It wasn’t there a few weeks ago,” she says, shrugging. I have a little belly pooch. I look down, but I don’t see anything but dirt and grime on my t-shirt.

“You’ve been watching me that long?”

“A couple of months now.”

“Oh.” I have no sense of danger, I guess.

“We need to get this over with,” Siobhan says impatiently. I hate her.

“You’re right,” Bridget says as she fiddles with the phone then holds it up.

Siobhan raises her knife and slashes out at me. The blade slices my forearm like it’s fucking butter. I don’t cry out and I can tell that pisses her off even more than she already is.

She then moves her blade to my belly.

“Siobhan don’t be a crazy ass bitch. I just told you that she’s pregnant,” Bridget all but shouts.

“Fine,” she says, rolling her eyes. Son of a bitch. I close my eyes and pray for help. I cry out in pain as she makes a cut on my face. What the fuck?

“That’s enough, Siobhan,” my eyes fly open at the new male voice in the room.

“Stay out of this Ryan,” she screams, spittle flying from her mouth. He pulls his guns, yes that’s both of them. One is pointed at Bridget and the other at Siobhan.

“Mom, what the fuck are you doing?” he asks.

“Revenge,” she says. “I don’t want to hurt her, just get to that Tori Jorgensen.”

“Ma, you can’t do this. You are hurting her. She’s bleeding everywhere.”

“Don’t worry about it. Get out of here Ryan.”

“Fuck, I should have told you,” he says hanging his head.

“Told me what?”

Suddenly, I hear wood splintering and Ryan’s gun moves the half inch from Siobhan to me. Bridget drops the phone and raises her gun to me.

Fuck, this is it.

I love you, Tori.

Chapter 13

Tori

The Colonel chartered a jet for us to Boston. Thank fuck because there is no way I was going to keep it cool, in the car driving there.

“How well do you know Ryan O’Connor?” I turn to look at Axel. His face is serious and deadly.

“We are not going to be drinking Dos Equis together anytime soon. But when we were surveilling his brother, he was the biggest intel we had.”
