"I want to kiss you now."

Is he insane?I don’t ask that not mentally or out loud, instead I ask, "Why?"

"Because I like you and you don't seem to mind when any of us show you affection, and I guess I just really want to. But now that you made me say all that out loud, I'm not sure if I really do want to anymore."

"Rem, man you don't say shit like that!" I gasp at the bruise forming under Derrin's eye.

Richard and Jase come into the kitchen next, both of them have black eyes and bleeding noses. Torren walks in holding a cloth to his lip.

"You're all idiots." I snap getting up and walking over to the freezer then start putting ice from the ice machine into Ziplock bags. I toss them at the guys, one after another. All of them mumble a thanks then sit down at the table. There's only four chairs so Torren ends up standing with his back to the wall.

I sigh and grab the cola from the cupboard. Pulling down six glasses, I hesitate, my hand hovering near the liquor cabinet. With a shrug I pull out the jack Daniels and pour a shot into each glass, followed by coke.

Remmie comes over and places his hand over my shaking one. "I'm sorry, Derrin said I shouldn't have spoken to you like that, I didn’t realise what I was saying could upset you.”

"It didn't upset me Rem, I'm just not used to someone speaking their mind all the time. You may have a strange way of looking at things, but you aren't wrong. Things are a mess and even I have no idea what we are all going to do from here."

"I say we set some ground rules. Maybe find a way to make it fair to everyone." I frown after him as he walks away carrying the tray of drinks. The doorbell goes off and both Derrin and Jason jump up to go answer it. I grab my glass and sit down beside Remmie, lost to the thoughts he's put in my head.

What sort of rules would help in this situation?

Try keeping it simple. No dating should be the first rule, otherwise there's just going to be more fighting. We all like you and that is just a recipe for disaster.

That's a good idea Derrin, thanks.

Anytime, beautiful.

"I think we need to set some rules. It’s the only way we are all going to get along together without fighting. I don't want us to keep going the way we have been. If we set some rules then we should also have consequences, I just can't figure out what should be the consequences and what should be the rules.”

"Why don't we start simple. I say we make the decisions by voting. Obviously, we won’t all agree on everything so that would be the fairest way to deal with issues as they arise.” Derrin adds.

Jase cocks his head to the side as the others return with the pizza, "I think we should be making a no dating each other rule."

"Aw and here I thought you had a thing for me, Jase." Derrin laughs.

"You wish, you're too girly for my liking, I prefer someone with a little more backbone."

"Oh ouch!"

"You two knock it off already, I'm trying to have a serious conversation here. You're just making things worse." I growl.

"Chill out beautiful, we're just have a bit of fun. We've sorted out our shit. Best thing about being a guy, you can punch each other then forgive each other."

"You're all idiots." I say around a mouthful of pizza.

“Fuck that's so wrong. Don't make noises like that."

"Like what?" I ask dumbfounded.

"You just moaned while putting something in your mouth, which leaves an erotic image in their heads."

"Remmie! Shit man, you're not supposed to tell her that."

"Why?"

"Because... Because... you just don't, okay?"

I laugh at the uncomfortable looks on the rest of the guys faces, when Remmie's quirks aren’t directed at me, they are actually quite funny. I lean over so I can whisper into his ear. "Keep telling me things like that and we'll have a favourite after all."
