“Are all the men here that helped to unpack the orders?”

He nodded his head. “Um, yes sir. I told them we were waiting for another order, but they might have sensed my worry.”

I would bet my year’s wage that the men knew what was coming. Riccoli wasn’t acting like man who had his shit together.

“Nick, since you did such a thorough job today, I’m going to have you head up the vehicle search. Are the dogs with you?”

I took his nod for an answer.

“Proceed and we’ll start going backward to find out where the guns went.”

Nick and another soldier went to one of the SUVs to get the dogs.

“Dogs, sir?” Riccoli’s voice went a little higher in concern.

“They’re trained by the police to smell drugs and guns. If they find anything, then we’ll deal with it. If not, then that means you get to live.” I smiled between tight lips.

“Sir?” Stefano approached with the phone in hand. “It’s the distribution center. They claim it all left their warehouse. The only place that it stopped was in the train yard to be loaded onto the trucks for delivery here.”

“Well, we’ll let the dogs and Nick do their job before we leave. Make sure the others are ready for a visit to the loading docks.” My fingers were itching to take someone out so they could pay. Bria had taken that part of my job over earlier and while I was pleased to have her do it, I hadn’t gotten rid of the itch to mete out some justice. Now was my chance.

We stood and waited for the dogs. I quietly kept my eyes pinned on Riccoli, watching him shuffle his feet and periodically glance at me to see if I was still watching him. Sweat poured faster down his forehead. I stayed cool and relaxed.

Nick came back into the room with the dogs and other men.

“Sir, the only guns that we found were those that have just been unpacked. None were hidden in the cars or here at the warehouse.”

I got closer to Riccoli, and slapped him on the back. He had to take a big step to keep himself from falling over. “Very good. That lets you off the hook, Riccoli.”

“We’re ready, sir.” Stefano appeared at my side.

While the docks were in the same city, it took almost two hours to get across the city and into the position for attacking the middle man as it were.

“Only shoot if they shoot first. I do want answers, and we can’t get that if everyone is dead.”

I led the way as a slight breeze rolled against me. It was a nice night, and I hated that I wasn’t asleep with Bria. I could’ve been curled around her right now. Or better yet, deep inside her with her moans in my ears.

My guys had their guns drawn as we approached. I entered through the door, confident that they wouldn’t shoot us because they weren’t expecting us.

A few nervous lookouts did send some warning shots, but my men silenced them without taking a shot.

“We just want to talk.” I held my hands out showing I wasn’t going to shoot anyone, at least not yet. Shooting them would take out any of the pleasure for me. It was too easy.

Randy Catalda came out of the office with two other men following him.

“What seems to be the problem here?” He approached our group full of bluster, then he squinted his eyes at the sight of me before widening them. “Luciano Romano? How can I help you, sir?”

“There is a problem, Catalda. We are missing guns.” I studied him as I spoke. “The distributor knows not to short us, so that leaves me with you.” I took a step closer to him. “Just a few at first, then a few more, and now someone got greedy and took over a hundred today. Somebody actually disrespected me and my family by stealing from me.”

His body fidgeted. “I want them found now. This is unacceptable behavior.” Randy snapped his fingers.

“Who died and made you god?” A man behind Randy snickered. “Now, really?”

Pissed off and tired of dealing in niceties, I pulled the gun from my back and I shot him between the eyes. I thought I would help him gain some enlightenment by opening his third eye or whatever bullshit that was.

“Anyone else feel like being a little bit more accommodating now?” I waved to my men and they spread out.

Nick took the dogs with him, and they began to search for our guns.
