“Jaelyn, you’re back!” Maggie yells out from across the quad.

“Hey friend,” I return, as she races toward me. “How have things been here?”

“Good. I’ve missed your ass. Tonight, we’re going to a party. Actually, it’s in a little bit. I was just on my way back to our room to get ready. Are you gonna come with me?”

“Of course. Where’s it at?”

“One of the frats. I can’t remember right now. The invite is up in the room.”

“Let’s go get ready then.”

Walking arm in arm with Maggie, one of my best friends, we make our way up to our room so we can get showers and start getting ready for the party tonight. I won’t be pregaming in our room since it’s been a while that I’ve had anything to drink. Maggie is already talking about having drinks in our room though. This girl is a bundle of energy, and I don’t know where she gets it all.

“So, tell me what’s been going on while you’ve been locked away,” Maggie says as we get in our room.

“Not much. I mean my sister had a baby. His name is Nash and he’s the most adorable little guy on the planet. He looks just like his daddy, so I know my sister is going to have her hands full when he gets older, and the girls start to notice him. My brother-in-law, Lash, is a force to be reckoned with when it comes to his boy already too. I know he’ll be in full protective mode until Nash can stand up for himself,” I answer her, a smile on my face as I look at one of my best friends.

“That’s awesome! Do you have pictures of him?”

Pulling out my phone, I show her a few pictures of Nash, my sister, and Lash. Her jaw hangs open as she stares at my brother-in-law. I know he’s a good looking man, but he’s got nothing on the two who constantly invade my thoughts; Sabotage and Zeus.

“Holy shit!” Maggie exclaims, not taking her eyes off the phone. “That’s a sexy as fuck man. You get to see him on all your breaks from school?”

“Yeah. I mean he is married to Hartley, and they live together.”

“I wouldn’t have come back here if he was married to my sister.”

“You’re so weird. Get in the shower while I choose what I’m going to wear tonight.”

Maggie finally hands my phone back over as she heads for the shower in our private bathroom. Not all rooms have their own en suite, but we do. It’s one of the things I’m grateful for her at school. I don’t like having to shower where a ton of other people do. It’s disgusting as hell, and I’d rather go without. I’d honestly live at home if I had to share a bathroom with so many other people.

Heading for my room, I search through the clothes I left here. Finding my little black dress that shows more tit and ass than my sister would like, I pull it out and set about selecting the rest of my ensemble for the night. I’ll be wearing my bright red heels, some bangle bracelets Hartley got me last year for my birthday, and my hair will be piled up in a messy bun with a few strategically placed curls hanging around my face. As usual, I’ll keep my make-up light with the exception of my smokey eyes.

Maggie quickly takes a shower before heading to her room in nothing more than a towel wrapped around her small body. It’s nothing I haven’t seen before since we started sharing a dorm room. Hell, if I’m being honest, I’ve seen all my friend has to offer on more than one occasion. She has no shame and doesn’t care who sees her goods. I might be impulsive as hell, but I’m still a virgin and no one gets to see what I have to offer. Not to say I haven’t messed around with guys before, I have. I’m just not ready to give some bumbling college boy my virginity just because everyone else is having sex.

We’ve been at the party for over an hour now and I’ve lost Maggie and the rest of my friends as I stand against the wall and look around at everyone. There are writhing bodies everywhere I look dancing and putting in some time here before they find the closest empty room to hook up in. It’s honestly the same as every other party I’ve been to here; each and every clique takes up space in the room trying to keep attention on themselves in various ways. Especially the girls who want to attract a jock for the night. They’re barely wearing any clothes, grinding against one another, and getting sloppy drunk. It’s pathetic really.

“What’s a beautiful girl like you doing over here all by yourself?” Derek, captain of the football team, questions as he leans against me.

“Trying to avoid people like you. Not gonna fuck you Derek. Don’t know how many times I have to tell you that?” I answer him, not bothering to hide the annoyance in my voice.

“Jae, why do you have to be like that? We’d be so good together. I’d even give up all the other girls for you,” he says, running his fingers down my cheek as I pull away from his touch. “Here, I got you a drink. Loosen up some and save me a dance. That’s all I’m asking is for a dance before you leave here.”

Accepting the cup from him, I don’t respond to him as he saunters away. With the heavy bass pumping through the frat house, I down the cup of beer Derek brought me while not leaving my post against the wall in the dark. It’s not long before everything starts to fade, and a weird feeling fills me. Colors from the strobe lights begin blending together and becoming fuzzy as I stumble. I’ve had literally one beer and it takes more than this to get me drunk.

Taking a deep breath, I open my small bag to pull out my phone. My movements seem to be so slow as I finally manage to extract my phone and unlock it. The words on the screen blur as I search my contacts for someone to call. It won’t be my sister or Lash if I can find someone else. They don’t need to know about this shit if I can help it, but I’m not dumb enough to believe anyone else in the club will keep this secret from them. Finally, I think I find Sabotage’s name in my phone and press the call button.

“Jae, what’s goin’ on?” his deep voice fills the phone.

“S-S-Sab, I think I need help,” I tell him, my words slurring.

“What’s wrong?” he barks through the phone.

“At party. Sick,” I tell him, my voice fading in and out as everything begins to go black.

“Hang on Jae. I’ll be right there. Stay on the phone with me as long as you can,” his voice urges me as I stumble again and land on the floor where I was standing.

Today has been long as fuck. Jaelyn left this morning to head back to school. I couldn’t be there when she took off for various reasons. She’s a minor and I have no business wanting to be anywhere close to her. I promised my brother I’d leave her alone until she graduates and that’s what I’m going to do. So, I left early as hell on a ride with Zeus before having to come to Jaded Outlaw for work tonight. We spent the entire day on the road with no destination in mind as we pushed our bikes to the limits and tried to keep our minds off the pretty girl who has no business being around guys like us. We’re not good guys.
