Sandra

“Wow, you had an awesome night.”

Sandra looked into the mirror at the blonde standing behind her as she washed her hands—the same woman she’d talked to before her roll.

“Yeah. It was fun.” More than that, but she wasn’t going to let herself delve into that thought. This was a one-night thing. A simple game of two consenting adults having fun. Nothing more.

“I told you James knows what he’s doing.” She nodded.

“How’d your night go?” Sandra asked, slipping away from the topic of James.

“Not bad. Had some fun of my own.” The blonde turned around and lifted her skirt. Red welts crisscrossed over her ass. Purple blotches were already forming in a few spots. “Actually, damn good.” She laughed, touching her fingertips to one welt.

Sandra finished washing her hands. The eyeliner had taken two washes to get off her nose, but it was cleared now.

“It’s too bad James is letting his membership expire. I was hoping to get to play with him again. But I guess not.” The blonde put her skirt back down and smoothed out the wrinkles.

He’d let his membership expire. Sandra’s heart clenched. There would be no more playing with him. This truly was a one-night thing.

“Yeah. I know what you mean,” Sandra said, doing her best to sound casual. As much as she didn’t want him to stop coming to Black Light, she also couldn’t stomach the idea of him playing with someone else.

“Well… see you around.” The blonde waved and headed toward the stalls.

“Yeah, you too,” Sandra said and walked out of the bathroom. Her mind in a haze, she found her way back to the platform where James had packed everything up. Staff members were already cleaning up the equipment.

“Hey.” James’ brow wrinkled. “You okay?”

She cleared her mind. “Yeah. Yeah. I’m good.”

“You shouldn’t have gone off by yourself yet. I should have made you sit down.” He cupped her elbow and led her toward the lounge, finding a booth. She didn’t argue when he gestured for her to sit on the plush leather.

“Water.” He put a bottle in front of her. “I should have made you—”

“You can’t make me do things,” she blurted out, unscrewing the top of the bottle. “I’m an adult, and I can take care of myself.” She took a long swig of the water. “I don’t need someone to do that for me.”

He slid into the seat across from her and covered her hands with his own.

“Hey, what’s going on?”

“Nothing.” She pulled her hands from beneath his.

He leaned back in his seat.

“That’s not right. I’m sorry.” She rubbed her temples. “I’m sorry, you don’t deserve that. I’m just… I don’t know, tired, frustrated for some reason.”

He tilted his head. “Sometimes after a scene that happens. Especially when it’s intense like pain play.”

And sometimes it’s because she’s an idiot and starts romanticizing things that aren’t real.

“Yeah. That’s probably all it is.” She nodded and took another sip of the water.

“Hey, James. There you are.” A staff member approached their table. “Here’s your confirmation. All renewed.” He handed James a piece of paper. “Glad you changed your mind.”

James nodded to him and took the paper. “Thanks.”

“You renewed?” Sandra asked once they were alone again.

“Yeah.” He folded the paper in half, pressing down the crease. “I’m gonna be honest, Sandra.” He folded his hands on top of the paper. “I’d like to see you again. But not here. Well, here, but not here.”
