Her father was about to butt in again, but Bella cut him off, glaring at her husband. “I will remind you that we had been married for six years by the time I was Tiffany’s age, and we already had three children. Spare me the lecture on her not being old enough to have sex. I think I can speak for every woman here when I say that you men could learn a thing or two about how to look at your wife by watching Lukus here. You all might have happier marriages.”

It was Angelina who was scandalized by her mother’s outburst, not because she disagreed, but because she had to put her hands over the ears of her teenage daughter, who was now much more interested in the juicy conversation going on around her than her cell phone. “Mom, please. The kids are here.”

Bella grinned. “Fine. I’ll behave.”

Lukus and Tiffany remained silent as the family commotion swirled around them. Tiffany saw humor playing in his eyes; she knew her Dom, the man she loved, was having fun. She looked for any sign of regret in his eyes, and saw only love shining back at her.

Aiden had one final, lame objection. “For crying out loud. He doesn’t even have a ring.”

It was Colleen to the rescue. “Here. I have Grandma Antonelli’s ring on my right hand. I’ll let you borrow it until you can get your own ring.”

She rushed forward and thrust the ring into Lukus’s hand before hugging him tightly. “You must really love her. No man would put up with this crazy family otherwise.”

Lukus grinned back at his future sister-in-law. “Thanks, Colleen. I think you might be right.”

He turned back to Tiffany. On cue, everyone quieted down again.

Tiffany was sure her heart was going to pound out of her chest as Lukus held her left hand in his and slipped Grandma Antonelli’s square-cut ruby onto her ring finger.

“Tiffany Lauren O’Sullivan. Will you marry me?” he asked.

She saw a vulnerability in his eyes. Did he really not know how happy she was? How she would have walked across hot coals to see his face every day for the rest of her life?

She felt the fullness of the plug and was reminded of all of the kinky things this man was going to do to her if she said yes. She thought back to the severe punishment she’d been on the receiving end of just a week before, when she’d put herself in danger and disobeyed her HoH. By saying yes now, she knew she was signing up for a lifetime of the same.

In that moment, there was only one answer.

“You’re making me the happiest woman on the face of the earth today, Lukus Mitchell. Yes! Double yes! I can’t wait to be your wife.”

“It’s not going to be easy being married to me. You know that, right?” he asked.

Tiff grinned. “Are you trying to talk me out of it already?”

“Sass. You’re just full of sass.” He was grinning back.

“Yes, but you love my sass.”

“Yes. Yes, I do. You know what else I love?”

She didn’t even get a chance to reply. Lukus moved into action, standing up and scooping her into his arms before marching through her family towards the house.

She heard Liam shouting out behind them. “Where are you two going?”

“Your sister and I have some celebrating to do. We’ll be back down in time for dinner.”

Relief that no one could see her flaming face buried against Lukus’s neck filled Tiffany as she held on to him tightly. “Honey! Everyone is going to know what we’re doing!” she said.

He looked down at her in his arms. “I own a sex club, baby. That doesn’t really bother me. The question is, does it bother you?”

She only had to think for a few seconds. “Not in the least.”

Chapter Seventeen

Hannah - In California

“Don’t look now, but that hot guy is back. He’s at the end other end of the bar. Says he won’t let anyone but you wait on him.”

Hannah’s fellow bartender, Christy, had leaned in to be heard over the string quartet playing classical music in the lobby of the Four Seasons hotel. The lobby bar was full of pharmaceutical conventioneers, networking over drinks on the busy evening.
