“What was there, Travis?” he sternly asked.
“Another note,” Travis uttered quietly down the line. “I didn’t want to worry Charlotte so I called you immediately. It was left in the car park with twenty-eight bouquets of daisies in Charlotte’s designated space.”
“A little too late for that—” I replied. I heard the gasp from Travis and the sudden realization that he now knew that the pair of us had spent the night together. “We’ll be at the studios in an hour together.”
“Together?” Travis replied in a stunned tone, like he couldn’t accept the possibility that we were telling the truth. Was he that blinded by the situation or just shocked?
“Yes, together. I’m not leaving Charlotte’s bed or house without her by my side. We’ll talk when we arrive.”
“We certainly will,” Travis replied as he disconnected the call before either Xander or I could. I felt the heavy arm of Xander lean across me, capturing my waist against his side.
“I think we were preoccupied before that call. Travis can wait. Nothing about it will change until we get there. I’m certain.” Xander placed his mouth against the corner of mine and started to pepper small kisses down the length of my jaw, continuing down my neckline. “Especially as Travis will have an opinion about the pair of us.”
“Won’t everybody?” I questioned.
