“What?” he exclaimed. He had me in his arms before I could repeat myself. We were both getting really good at this speed thing.
“I didn’t see it coming,” I gushed. “I haven’t felt well, but Neffie knew right away what it was.”
He hugged me tight. “I can’t believe it. I guess love really can conquer all. Even this.”
“Yeah,” I agreed. “I don’t think that’s what it means, but I’ll take this eternally ever after with you.”
Jared’s lips covered mine and I swooned, completely happy and so grateful this vampire was mine.
“I love you, Jared. I’ll love you forever.”
“Forever,” he echoed and scooped me into his arms. I didn’t need to ask where he was headed. Where else? To bed. Where we could celebrate love for as long as it lasted, which would be for an eternity. And that sounded just right to me.
