I quickly swapped Sofia’s sweaty pajamas for a new pair and sat in the rocking chair with her. Shoving down my top, I moved Sofia’s mouth closer. She latched onto my nipple, and I laid my head back on the chair, staring at my husbands.

They couldn’t take their eyes off me.

“You guys can go back to bed.”

Damian kneeled beside me, his black hair messy from sleep. “I’m not going anywhere.”

“Same,” Bastian agreed, leaning against the dresser beside the chair.

My guys were so sweet.

Throughout each pregnancy, they took good care of me. They checked my temperature and heart rate, ensured I took my vitamins, and ate on schedule. Luca coordinated every appointment and ordered new clothes when I grew out of them. I never had to worry about a thing.

Sofia ate for twenty-five minutes before she was satisfied. She fell asleep with her head on my breast.

Damian leaned over to brush the pad of his thumb across her pale, rosy cheek. He loved our daughter more than life itself. Sofia brought out a different side to the man I once feared.

Over the past two years, Damian transformed before my eyes. He still had urges. Those would never entirely go away. But his doctor worked through them with him. Damian credited his new outlook on my love for him. Although, I thought Sofia was the one who saved him.

Damian took her from my arms and laid her in the crib with care. “I’m going to stay with Sofia.” He dropped to the full-size bed where we slept some nights. It was easier when she was a newborn and waking us up all night. “Go back to bed.”

Damian propped himself up with his elbow, eyes on Sofia’s crib. Of all my husbands, he was the most attractive. It always struck me as odd that someone so beautiful on the outside could have so much darkness inside. That side of Damian kept most people away.

But not me.

I saw right through him.

Bastian hovered over Sofia’s crib and watched her sleep. His caramel brown hair was longer than usual, forcing him to push it off his forehead. He hadn’t gotten a haircut lately or even shaved.

All the stress with Drake and Marcello was wearing on all of us. I saw the signs with each of my husbands.

Bastian barely slept and had dark circles under his eyes. I was partly to blame for that. Most nights, I woke up with heartburn or stomach pains from gas. Sometimes, it was the boys kicking me too hard. There were dozens of reasons why I couldn’t sleep.

I was constantly stressed, counting the days until the twins’ delivery. Our entire house was restless. Especially now that Marcello was home. He was up a lot with nightmares and horrible memories from what he witnessed in the cave.

He felt personally responsible for what happened to Drake. Even blamed himself for Tate’s death. Marcello thought it was his job to protect everyone but never worried about himself. We were all concerned with his mental health and the lasting effect of the trauma.

The Lucaya Group had cast a dark cloud over our heads. We couldn’t seem to get out from under it.

After Damian fell asleep beside me, Bastian extended his hand, wiggling his fingers. He helped me up from the bed and wrapped his arm around me. “Time for bed, Cherry.”

I took one last look at Damian.

He looked so peaceful with his arm tucked underneath his head, snoring softly. He rarely slept before we had kids, so I didn’t want to wake him.

Bastian tugged on my hand and whispered, “Let’s go. Damian will come back to bed when he wakes up.”

Since Sofia’s birth, Damian had been sleeping in her room when he wasn’t with Bash and me. He said he wanted to be closer to his daughter.

He loved her more than anything in this world, maybe even more than he loved me. And I was perfectly okay with that. I wanted him to have that kind of relationship with our daughter.

Bastian guided me back to his room, and we got into bed. I rolled onto my side, unable to get comfortable.

He flicked off the bedside lamp and curled onto his side to face me. His breath warmed my cheek as he kissed my skin. “Night, Cherry”

“Can you turn on Swan Lake? I’m going to fall asleep easily.”

“I’m wide awake.”
