“But this is crazy! You are a popular, well-known star, that can have any woman he wants. A man that is more than just a man.” She shrugs, lowering her head. “I’m just a nurse, doing the best that I can to support myself and my sister.” Letting go of her hand, I place my finger under her jaw to raise her head so she can look at me again.
“You aren’t just a nurse to me. I know that I have just met you, but you are already the most important person in the world to me. I will fight any demon in my path for you.”
“But I don’t even know you. What does this mean?” She points to her covered shoulder, the one where I made my mark.
“That is my mark, everyone will know that you are mine.”
I see her features tensing once again at my words. “Where is your mark?” she asks.
“What?”
“Where is your mark that states that you are mine?”
I scowl.What is she implying?“I don’t have one,” I say cautiously.
“No, you don’t, do you? A bit unfair, don’t you think?” With those words she stands and hurries towards the bar’s main entrance.
“Siena!” I call out, but she doesn’t stop. Standing, I start to follow her, my ire rising when I see Jim approaching.Fuck, that’s all I needed right now.
“Well, hello there. Fancy meeting you here again,” he greets, but Siena ignores him as she goes to step around him. He grabs her upper arm, pulling her back.
The beast in me rises. Another man’s hands on my woman, has me seeing red.
“Let go of…” before she can finish her sentence, I’m throwing a punch that connects with Jim’s jaw. He snaps back, letting go of my woman as he falls. I grab Siena around the waist, pulling her hard against me to prevent her from falling.
Jim is sprawled on the ground, staring up at me in surprise as he grabs his jaw. “What the hell?” he mutters. “Have you gone mad?” Before I can answer, Siena is pushing away from me, looking at her I see her rage back in her features.
“You, you, argh!” With that, she snaps around and hurries out of the bar. I start to chase after her, but Jim stops me with his next words.
“Have you lost your mind? Why are you punching me over an easy lay?”
Turning back towards Jim, I stand over him as he looks up at me. “Careful, Jim, be very careful,” I warn before turning and running out after my mate.
SIENA 10
I can’t believe he just punched his agent! Even though I enjoyed seeing Jim flat on his back, I don’t condone violence. I should never have come here looking for him. What did I think would happen? The man is wild in more ways than one, if I go by his reaction earlier.
Sliding into my car, I pull out just as I see Blue walking out of the hotel. He waves at me, but I ignore his call and continue driving. I’m so angry at him right now, that I know I’ll be the one punching him if I go back. I have two treatments later today and then I think I’m going to stay with Taffy. Lee Ann is going out with her today. I will phone and ask her if we can both stay there because tomorrow the two of us will be going out on our weekend away, and Blue can go and punch anyone he wants to his heart’s content without me.
“Hi, Doll, missing your sis already?” Taffy asks as she answers her phone.
“How is she doing?”
“Good, we went out for coffee and now she’s just trying on a nice little dress we found.” Taffy sounds excited with the fact that Lee Ann is slowly making improvements.
“Taffy, do you think Lee Ann and I can stay with you tonight?”
There is a minute of silence before she replies. “Is everything okay, Lee Ann said you have a boyfriend?”
I shake my head.Boyfriend indeed!
“Yes, just thought that we could leave directly from there tomorrow for our weekend.” Speaking of the weekend, I haven’t even asked Lee Ann where she chose for us to go to.
“I see you are sidestepping. You didn’t tell me about thisboyfriend.” Taffy is like a dog with a bone when she wants something, so I know that if I don’t tell her now, I will have to tell her later.
“There is nothing to tell. He’s not my boyfriend.”Yes, of course not, Siena, because he’s your mate. I shake my head at my thoughts. How did I get myself into this situation?
“Really? I have never known you to have a meaningless fling before.” I can hear the surprise in Taffy’s voice.
