“Taffy would probably visit every weekend,” I quip.

Taffy is a tease and where there are hot guys, like they are here, she’d be more than happy to stay.

“What do you really have at home, Sis, besides your job?”

“Yes, but the job is what has kept us fed every month.” I don’t like to depend on anyone, and even though I know that Blue would be more than happy to support me, I want to be able to pull my own weight in this relationship, even if it’s not much compared to him.

“You can find a job here. Besides, when was the last time that you had a holiday?” She’s right. I used to work part time to help mom, and then after I finished my nursing course, I started full time and haven’t stopped since. Maybe I can take a few weeks off while I look for another Job.

“Wouldn’t it bother you, living in a house with this many people?”

Lee Ann shakes her head as she smiles, “You should have been at dinner last night. It was like having a great big family. Have you even seen where they eat?”

“I haven’t seen any of it,”

“Well then hurry up, I will show you,” she says standing to take her mug to the sink. “And you must meet Dakota, she’s really great.” Well, it looks like everything about this place has made an impression on Lee Ann.

Standing, I rinse off my mug before following Lee Ann into a huge dining area. The table is made of Oregon pine that will seat at least twenty-five people.

“The table was packed with food last night, and by the end of dinner it was all gone. You won’t believe how much these guys eat.”

“They are wolves, after all,” I tease with a laugh as she takes my hand to pull me outside through a side door. Instead of the bikes that I saw parked outside when I arrived. This side of the property is lush with trees. I take in a deep breath and smile. This is what I wanted for our weekend away, and even though I wasn’t expecting it quite like this when I first thought of it, the fresh clean air is calming, and I think it’s just what the two of us needed.

“Let’s go explore. They said it was safe to go into the woods because they have prospects patrolling all the time.”

“Well, what are we waiting for then?” I’m glad to see her so excited about it here.

“Hi!” I snap around to see Alaska approaching with three other women. “We saw the two of you through the window and thought we would join you.”

“Hi, we were just going to go exploring,” Lee Ann says.

“I’m Dakota, you must be Siena?” I smile as she walks up to me and pulls me into a hug. When she steps back, she points at Alaska, “That there is Alaska, which you met yesterday.” She then points to the other woman smiling at us, “That’s Onyx, and behind her is Sam”

“Hi.”

“I’ve been so curious to meet you. I wanted to see who Blue’s Ol’ lady was,” Onyx says with a grin, “I bet you have never been called an Ol’ Lady before, have you?”

“No, I can’t say I have,” I reply with a grin, warming up to them immediately, I look at Sam that’s standing slightly apart. She’s the only one that seems reserved, but she also seems like the youngest of them.

“Have you met all the guys yet?” Dakota asks as she slides her arm through mine.

“I only met King, yesterday and the others that were in Cape Town with us.”

“Oh, you’re in for a treat, wait until you meet my man,” Onyx says as she flutters her eyes exaggeratedly. Alaska elbows her playfully with a grin.

“No way, she will be speechless when she meets Dash,” Alaska quips.

“More like shedashesaway,” Dakota teases with a laugh that has me grinning at their camaraderie

“So, I’m guessing you are with Dash?” I ask with a raised brow, taking in Alaska’s nod before I look at Onyx. “And your man is called?”

“Hawk.”

“And mine is Hunter,” Dakota says before I can ask.

“And yours, Sam?” Sam looks shocked at my question.

“Oh, Sam isn’t with any of the guys,” Dakota says with a kind smile directed at Sam. “Sam has lived here the longest and knows all the men better than any of us. She helps around the place, but mainly, she’s our friend.”
