Trent squats, and Duri throws his arms around him. Hyun sees him and is eager to be included.

Duri says so many words, my head spins. I understand: friend, Jayne, cow, Daisy, and Rat, but the rest flies by.

Eva is standing idly by with Selina, a perplexed look on her face.

“Wow,” she says, her head cocked to the side. “Did Duri’s English just explode?”

My face twists in confusion because while I picked up on every word, they make little sense. “Explode…boom?”

Eva’s jaw drops. “Um-no…”

Selina laughs, and even I can’t help but grin, because while they are joking, they are not being mean-spirited.

Eva chuckles. “I’ll-watch-my-words.”

“Is dad going to be mad he’s here?” Duri asks with a worried expression.

I still do not know what I am going to tell them about their father, but they deserve an explanation when they’re older.

For now, I suppose it’s best to keep it vague.

“Your father will be away for a while. He loves you very much, but he’s working through some things.”

“Are we going back outside?” Duri whines. “I like it down here. I like feeding the chickens.”

“No. We are going to a new apartment. One with Trent. Is that okay?”

“Better than okay!” Duri enthuses. “I hated the other one.”

Selina approaches and hands a keycard to Trent, then hands a second to me. “You’ll-be-staying-in-5C.”

I nod, relieved I won’t have to bring the boys back to the terrible place we shared with Ji-hoon.

“Thank you.”

“So, um…dinner sometime. Kids, me, you, Trent, and Blake?”

I nod. “I’d like that.”

Her little girl, Jayne, starts talking too fast for me to understand, but Duri seems smitten, which is what matters.

Trent picks up Hyun and looks over at me. “Check out the new place?”

“Yes.”

I take Duri by the hand and we walk to our new apartment, which is similar to the one I shared with Ji-hoon, but so much better because I get to share it withhim.

The boys’ room already has toys in it, so we don’t have to worry about them growing bored.

“Someone-will-get-your-stuff,” Trent says slowly.

Little does he know that I don’t care if any of the things I had with Ji-hoon make it down. All I care about is that I spend the rest of my life with my boys and the man I love: Trent.

Trent’s arm wraps around me protectively as we watch the boys play through the doorway. It’s peaceful, how life is meant to be.

He places his other hand on my belly and says, “So…baby?”

After we’d had sex on the outside, I’d feared I’d be pregnant and that Ji-hoon would murder me for it.
