Within seconds, I had devoured hers as well. My processors felt sluggish, my circuits lagging with the all the sugar I had ingested. Worth it.

I leaned back against the chair, closing my eyes. The lingering scent of waffles floated through the air along with Poe’s natural scent. I inhaled, drawing the combined scents into my lungs, filtering it through my systems, committing this moment to memory.

I felt safe.

Cared for.

Wanted.

A warm fingertip brushed against my cheek and my eyes popped open.

“You had a bit of whipped cream on your cheek.” Poe’s chocolate eyes met my emerald ones. “I think I got it,” she whispered, but her fingertip didn’t leave my cheek.

I captured her wayward finger within mine, tugging it down towards my mouth. Later, I would tell myself that I hadn’t wanted to waste a single drop of whipped cream, but in the moment, I simply longed to taste her. I drew the tip of her finger into my mouth and sucked, cleaning the drop of cream from her finger before releasing it with a wet pop.

“I think I got it,” I repeated her whispered words, watching her pupils dilate as her mouth rounded into a perfect o.

Her lips slammed shut and she gulped. “Yep.” She yanked her hand from my grasp. “You did.” She stepped back. “I should probably clean up. Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Glad you liked the waffles, Dax.” She retreated further and I started to rise from my seat, wanting to pull her back to me.

Had I offended her somehow? I hadn’t known what had come over me. I was never that bold. I wasn’t a Service Model. I didn’t lick or suck things. My mouth was at its most useful when it was puzzling out equations out loud alone in the lab.

“I am sorr-” My apology cut off when I noticed a scent sweeter than the whipped cream drifting into my nostrils. Poe’s chest rose and fell rapidly, her eyes wide, her cheeks stained a beautiful shade of pink.

Those signs indicate arousal. Was it possible? Did Poe enjoy my mouth wrapped around her finger? Would she like it if I put my mouth other places?

My frame landed into the seat with a thud. Images of different places she might like assaulted my processors, causing my hands to tremble against the arm rests. I gripped them harder to stop the shaking, then used them to push myself to my feet.

Don’t stop now, Science Model. Make a move,my programming ordered, and I obeyed. My feet moved towards Poe, eating up the distance between us in two steps. My hands slid into her hair and I gently tipped her head back, revealing her startled expression.

“What are doing?” She stammered.

“Kiss me.” I bent down and waited, our lips a mere breath apart, my eyes pleading with hers to grant me my request.

“Dax,” she murmured softly, her hands sliding up my frame to capture my face.

“Please Poe,kissme.”Show me that I’m not some kind of undesirable freak that no female would ever want.

Poe moved slowly, our noses bumping together before her lips pressed against mine awkwardly. After a few moments, the kiss grew more confident, our mouths working together to discover what felt good. She hesitantly licked the seam of my lips, a request for entrance that I willingly obliged. All logic fled as her tongue slid between my lips and tangled with mine. Dance. Retreat. Dance. Retreat. Our mouths and tongues explored each other, stroking, sliding, meshing, until I couldn’t tell where I ended and she began.

Poe finally broke off the kiss, pulling back to suck air into her lungs. My processors should have been able to tell you how long our lips had been locked together, but at the moment, they couldn’t even calculate the figuration of my own name. Poe had kissed my processors stupid.

Poe dropped her head against my chest. My hands fell from her hair to wrap around her waist, keeping her close. I was afraid she might decide that one kiss was enough. One kiss had only whetted my appetite. Her lips on mine had been better than whipped cream and waffles. She was delicious and I craved more.

Small hands landed on my chest, giving me a slight push. I let go and allowed her to slip from the circle of my arms. She lifted her fingers to her mouth touching her lips as if she couldn’t believe she had just used them to kiss the brilliance from my brain.

She motioned back and forth between us. “We kissed, right? My ‘Dax is forever my crush’ brain wasn’t imagining things, was it?”

Definition of the word crush scrolled through my processors.

To compress with violence, out of natural shape or condition.Hmm. That didn’t seem to be accurate. I touched my mouth, cautiously. Nope. My lips were in the same condition they were before the kiss. Lightning quick, I scanned again.A burning desire to be with. Someone who you find very attractive and extremely special.

Could that be what Poe meant? But wait, she said I was her forever crush. As in the one person she wanted to be withforever. That couldn’t be possible, could it?
