“You’ll swallow, understand?”

“Yes, sir.”

It took only a few more thrusts, another moment where he was in control of my breathing and then he pulled back an inch, allowing me to gulp air, before he erupted. Thick ropes of cum spurted into my mouth, filling it beyond capacity until I remembered his command and swallowed. I wasn’t successful in accepting it all, there was just too much. Some spilled from my lips to drip down my chin and onto the front of my t-shirt. When my mouth was empty but for his cock, I licked all over his shaft, making sure he was clean. I didn’t open my lips until he gave permission.

“Release.”

I opened my mouth and he pulled out while I licked my lips. After adjusting his clothing, he helped me off my knees. Lifting me, he set me down on the counter, bending to give me a kiss. I wrapped my arms around his neck, sweeping his tongue with my own until I was breathless again. When he pulled away, I was pretty sure I’d pleased him enough that he’d rescind his decision that I join him on his morning run. That proved to be wrong as he picked up my socks and shoes and handed them to me.

“Really?”

“Really.”

“Brett, I haven’t even had any coffee yet.”

“I’ve got hydration covered,” he assured me, going to the refrigerator and pulling out three bottles of water. Uncapping one, he took a long swig and then passed it to me. I drank while he tied the laces on my sneakers. Once we’d finished the bottle, he plucked me off the counter.

“We’ll start with a few stretches to get the blood flowing.”

“I’m pretty sure your blood is flowing just fine,” I grumbled.

“I was talking about your blood, babe. It’s been a while since you did any type of exercise. Just follow along.”

Rolling my eyes, I followed him into the living room, standing slightly behind him but well out of the way of his long arms and legs. I decided the view wasn’t bad as he bent over to touch his toes, his shorts molding to his ass. This man was definitely fit.

He looked up from between his legs. “You’re not supposed to be gawking, soldier. You’re supposed to mimic my moves.”

“Well, excuse me, sir. If you didn’t have such an incredible ass, I wouldn’t be spellbound.”

He chuckled and straightened. Pulling me to stand slightly in front of him, he said, “You can follow verbal instructions.”

After fifteen minutes of bending, stretching, twisting, and lunging, all accompanied by grunting and gasping on my part, he considered us ‘warmed up’. Retrieving the two bottles of water and handing me one, he said, “We’ll start with only a mile loop.”

My t-shirt was already plastered to my chest and I felt like I’d run a marathon. “Honey, I appreciate you being all gung-ho, but I’m not really a soldier, and I’m not a fitness fanatic like you are.”

“Did you or did you not tell me that you wanted to get back into shape?”

“Are you calling me fat!”

“No, Hannah, I’m simply reminding you of your own words. You said you lack energy, you feel sluggish, your clothes don’t fit as well. Personally, I love your curves as they give me something to hang onto when I fuck you. Exercise doesn’t have to be done to lose weight. It produces endorphins, it clears your head, improves your circulation and, frankly, will give you energy to face the day.”

Granted, I had said all of that, and, yes, I knew the benefits of physical fitness, but honestly, all I heard was that the extra pounds I’d packed on were considered something he could hang onto. I sure as shit did not want to run, but damn it, other than my ponytail, I was not going to have handles for my husband to grab, and it was only a mile. Walking to the front door, I yanked it open. “You coming?”

He caught up with me before I’d stepped off the porch, patting my butt. “Did you forget, I already did?”

Not even bothering to hide my eye-roll, I swatted his hand away and began to jog. Our house was located on a hill, so the first part wasn’t bad, the speed gained by going downhill carrying me through the first quarter mile. After that, it was pure torture. Brett kept pace with me, not even breaking a sweat.

“You’re doing great, honey, we’ll turn right at the next corner.”

What I wanted to do was turn around and walk home. Gritting my teeth and swiping my arm across my forehead, I didn’t bother speaking. Not that I couldn’t, mind you, I just chose not to. When we turned, I saw the obstacle course ahead and found my voice after all.

“I am not doing that!”

“Nope, not today,” he said. “You’ll have to build up some endurance first. But don’t fret, you’ll be swinging on ropes and scaling walls before you know it.”

When hell freezes over, I thought, not giving the course another glance. I concentrated on putting one foot in front of the other. Breathing became a huge effort, and by the time we turned again, I was wondering how long it would take the base medics to reach me when I collapsed.

“Breathe, baby. Deep breaths in, slow exhales out.”
