“She’s not a doll. This is Stormy St. James, our new facilities coordinator. Stormy, this is Wizard, our resident techie.”

Stormy offered her hand to Wizard. He took a hold of it, then kept it.

“Nice to meet you, Wizard.”

“The pleasure is mine, Stormy.”

Chapter 6

Stormy

Fuck me!If all the guys in the club are this hot, I’m in serious trouble. Each of the men I’d met so far were fodder for book boyfriends. Talk about serious fantasies. These guys were every girl's wet dream.

Wizard topped six feet by two, maybe three inches. He was close to my height in the boots I wore. The sides of his head were shaved, showing ink beneath the fine growth of hair. The rest of his thick black hair was styled to perfection. Olive-tan skin and green eyes. He smiled and winked at me when we were introduced. In fact, he still had a hold of my hand.

“Wizard, let go of her hand before I break your fucking face.”

I looked back at Gambit. His face was a beautiful storm. His blue eyes were darker. The look of fury on his face did things to her. If my panties get any damper, I’m going to go into the bathroom and ring them out. Fuck, he took my breath away. I’d never seen a look of fury on a man’s face that turned me on. He was acting jealous, or maybe I’m just losing my mind.

Wizard laughed, letting go of my hand. “You should give me a chance, doll. I’m smarter than he is.”

Gambit growled in response, placing his hand in the small of my back. He guided me inside the old firehouse. The front door opened into a large room. A few sofas and chairs were placed in the large open room. Two pool tables sat off to one side. On the opposite side of the room, a small stage was built around a fireman’s pole.

A snicker escaped my lips. I tried to keep it in, honest. Fucking snicker. I mean come on. I am a writer, and the club turned the fireman’s pole into a stripper pole.

“Anything wrong, Princess?” Wizard asked.

The judgment in his voice threw me a curveball.

“I’m not judging, Wizard. I just found the use of the pole ironic.”

“Ironically, in what way?”

This came from Gambit, who’d halted our progress. My mind went a thousand directions in the next few seconds. How do I explain this quickly?

“There’s no way to explain this quickly. Let me try summing it up. I’m a writer.”
