Chapter 8

Stormy

Iswear my toes curledwhen he kissed me. He pulled away, setting me back down in the chair.

“I’ll be back as soon as I can, ma Queen. Make yourself at home. Don’t take shit from anyone.”

With a wink, he was gone. I turned my head so I could watch him leave. Beau Landry had the finest ass I’d ever laid eyes on. I’ve looked at plenty. I may have been a virgin, but I’d read the menu thousands of times. I just never ordered.

Turning my attention back to the budget, I went over the numbers. They were more than generous. I still had a few contacts in the business from my job in Indiana. I was sure Kai would know someone local I could get good deals from.

A knock sounded at the door a few minutes later before the door opened and Wizard stuck his head in.

“Hello doll. Prez said I should keep you entertained while he’s gone. Any ideas?” He winked, giving me a big grin.

“You can show me around so I can get a feel for things.”

He sauntered over to her, holding out his arm. I stood up and couldn’t help but giggle as I laced my arm through his. A romance writer surrounded by the hottest men on earth. And it was REAL.Holy Fuck Me Now!

Wizard led us out of the office and down the hall. He showed me the bunk room where the prospects stayed. There were four bedrooms in the back with jack and jill style bathrooms. Those belonged to the club's bunnies, so we didn’t look inside. The second floor housed what he called the brass or the club’s officers. Each room had a small bathroom, a mini fridge, dresser, and a bed. Some brothers added other items while others were minimalistic.

Downstairs, the main room had a variety of well-used furniture. After hearing some stories from my friends, I decided all the new furniture purchased would be leather. I can have it scotch guarded, and no one has to worry about sex juices settling into the fabric. Two pool tables that had seen their better days, a variety of tables and chairs, and a twenty-foot-long bar.

An attractive man around my age and height stood behind the bar, serving drinks to the brothers. His black hair was shaved on the side. A long thick braid hung down his back. He reminded me of Magnus Bane fromShadowhunter’s. One of my favorite shows.

I’m seriously surrounded by men who could be on the cover of my books. Fuck! The man looked up and smiled.

“Hey, Wizard. Who’s the new girl?”

“Stormy, this is Cosmo. He’s one of our prospects.

“Prospect, this is Stormy. Gambit just hired her to fit the club.”

“Nice to meet you, Stormy. Make sure the prospects' rooms rock. Can I get you anything to drink?”

“Unless you have a throwback Dew, I’ll take a Coke.”

“Throwback, huh. I’ll have to stock some.”

Wizard sat on one of the stools, showing her to sit next to him.

“Think you have a good feel for what we want?”

“Frat house meets strip club?” I said jokingly.

“Perfect!” Cosmo said.

As I took a drink, another man hurried up to the bar. He was massive, as wide as he was tall, and he topped me by five inches, without heels. A jagged scar ran down the length of the right side of his face, bisecting his eye, which appeared to be normal. He had a sleeve of tats on one muscular arm.

“Whiskey, make it a double.”

Cosmo looked at him before pouring him a double of Beam. The new guy downed it in one gulp and sat the empty glass on the bar.
