“Bébé, tell me what happened.”

“I had the girls meet at the coffee shop so we could talk about wedding plans. With only 30 days until our wedding, I wanted all hands-on deck. We were there for over an hour drinking and chatting before I needed to recycle coffee.”

I quirked a brow, smiling at her. “Recycle?”

She smiled back at me. “I enjoy being different, what can I say? I was leaving the bathroom when someone grabbed me. I screamed and struggled. He told me it turned him on.”

Bile rose in the back of my throat at that comment. My anger grew as she told me what happened next. Tears fell down her cheeks as she finished the story.

“What am I going to do, Beau? He’s obviously following me.”

When I drew her into my arms, she started to sob. It broke my fucking heart. I was going to kill the bastard slowly. Maybe I’d skin the motherfucker alive. He’d terrorized her for the last time.

By the time I got Stormy settled, Pops knocked on the door before letting himself in. He went straight to Stormy and pulled her in his arms for a fatherly hug. I loved how my old man had taken Stormy under his wing. Treated her like his own.

“Are you alright, princess?”

“I’m okay, Pops.”

“The boys are still out looking for that rat bastard. Don’t worry, when we find him, he’ll never bother you again.”

He looked up at me. “Church as soon as the boys get back?”

“Yeah. We have that restaurant catering brunch for everyone.”

Stormy started to climb off my lap.

“Where are you going, bébé?”

“I should be in the kitchen when the caterers arrive. They’ll be here any minute now.”

“Bébé, someone else can do it. You had a traumatic event not thirty minutes ago.”

“I don’t want someone else to take on my responsibilities if I can do it.”
