Stormy
The bloody beers area raging success. I headed to the kitchen to check on the caterers. Pops and Trinity suggested we use Elsie’s Plate & Pie. We chose nearly their entire catering menu. With so many people here, I wanted a lot of variety.
Trinity arranged for a team to take care of set-up, serve food and drinks, and clean up. The bunnies and prospects were also pitching in. The next couple of hours passed quickly as we set up the buffet tables. Smokey pimento cheese dip, crawfish queso, boudin balls and sliders sat at the beginning of the line.
Next, we chose five savory pies. Three were hand pies. The hand pies were filled with seafood, chicken and a pork, and beef mixture. Tomato pie and crustless crab pie finished the savory pies. I chose a salad I knew the cauldron would love. It had spinach, tomatoes, toasted pecans, red onions, blue cheese and came with a strawberry pepper vinaigrette.
Catfish, fried and grilled shrimp, chicken strips, red beans and rice, and crawfish mac and cheese made up our entrees. A variety of pies sat at the end of the pie. They include a lemonade icebox pie with blueberry whipped cream and coconut cream pie. Cauldron Cakes supplied the rest of our desserts. A selection of brownies, cookies and cakes.
Strong arms slipped around me. Gambit’s scent hit my senses and I relaxed again. “You look good enough to eat, bébé.”
I laughed. “Rain check? We didn’t make it to dinner last night.”
Gambit threw back his head, laughing, a few brothers joining in. Everyone would know by now that he carried me off last night. He gave me a slight bow.
“Your wish is my command, my Queen.”
I turned around kissing him. My tongue slipped inside his mouth to taste him. He groaned when I bit his bottom lip, pulling me closer. Gambit deepened the kiss, leaving me breathless by the time he pulled away. He took my hand leading me to our table.
“You sit here, and I’ll go get your food.”
Gambit pulled out my chair, pushing it in before heading toward the food. I didn’t even try to stop myself from leering at his ass as he went.
Nay sat down, a smirk on her face. “Girl let me get you some extra napkins for that drool.”
A blush spread across my cheeks.
“I can’t help it. He has a fine ass. I mean F-I-N-E.” I spelled out the letter before winking at her. My cheeks are still flaming red.
“Eww I don’t want to hear about my brother's ass.”
I giggled. “No matter if you don’t want to hear it. It’s a fine ass.”
Nola put her hands over her ears. “Lalalalalala”
We were roaring with laughter by the time guys arrived. Gambit set a mounded plate in front of me.
“You’re eating what’s left, right?”
“If not, Pops or one of the guys will. Ito’s always available for empty plate duty.”
