Chapter Five
Reid
Reid rolled from his bed, and walked naked out to the living room. His gaze found Alexis immediately. She was in the kitchen, bent over slightly as she scanned the contents of the refrigerator. He smiled at the way his shirt hugged her ass, and stopped short of the top of her shapely thighs. A week ago, he’d lain in bed with a hard-on thinking about his pretty neighbor. Anxiously waiting for the time he’d be free to ask her out. Now fate had delivered her into his hands and bed, and Reid wasn’t about to let her go anytime soon.
If he didn’t know better, he’d think he was already half in love with her.
She reached for something. As she popped a cherry tomato into her mouth, and straightened, he moved up behind her, and wrapped his arms around her waist. She started, and then relaxed immediately when he began to kiss the back of her neck. Her sigh of pleasure encouraged him to pull his shirt down her shoulder where he could put his mouth on her sweet flesh.
“I could definitely get used to you being around.”
Alexis shivered, and rolled her head back against his chest. They exchanged a brief kiss. “I was just thinking the same thing. I hope you don’t mind, but I called my mom.”
“That’s okay. It’s over now, and I can go back to living normal.”
Turning into his arms, Alexis asked, “Normal, what does that look like for an FBI agent?”
“When I’m not on a case, I live here in my quiet little piece of the world.”
“Surrounded by guard dogs.”
He chuckled. “Max, Sonny and Bubba are pets, little cat. They wouldn’t harm a flea.”
Her eyes grew round. “You mean I could have escaped?”
“Did you want to escape?” Hell, he could feel himself getting an erection. I can’t get enough of her.
Their gazes clung for a long moment. Alexis shook her head. “I did everything but strut around naked to get you to notice me the last six months.”
Reid’s brows rose. “Oh, baby, I noticed. You had me so hot and horny that I almost knocked on your door one night.”
Alexis laughed softly. “Really?”
Reaching forward, Reid ran the back of his hand against her bruised cheek. “Really. But I didn’t want to get involved with you while I was still working undercover. I knew things could turn bad at any time. When Juan told me I would have to pass a little test to prove I was trustworthy, I never dreamed it would involve you.”
“The test was to fuck me?”
His chuckle held little humor. “They’d kidnapped you, and told me either I screwed you or we’d both take a swim with concrete blocks tied to our ankles. I didn’t know that it was you at first. But once I did, nothing could have stopped me from fucking you.” He took a deep breath. “I’m sorry they involved you, sorry they hurt you.”
“No need to apologize, Reid. It wasn’t your fault.”
Reid kept her close. He liked the feel of her against him. She hadn’t taken the time to button his shirt, and he moved his hands inside to her waist. He slowly moved the shirt aside until her rosy-tipped nipples were exposed. He dropped his gaze for a second before raising it to meet hers. He jerked her up against him, growling with pleasure when her hard nipples raked his chest. “I wonder how long it will take for me to get enough of you.”
Alexis’ husky laugh turned his blood warmer. She reached up to kiss his chin, causing her tits to move against his chest. When she started to back away, Reid lifted her, and placed her on the counter.
“What happens now?” she asked.
“That depends on you.” I know what I want, but does she want the same thing?
“Well, usually when you meet someone new that you’re interested in, you ask them on a date. You go out to dinner, maybe a show or two, see each other a few times before ending up in bed.”
“I think we’ve done things a little backwards, baby.”
“I’m not going to complain. But I would like to get to know you better.”
Reid moved between her legs, and kissed her on the neck. “I work for the FBI”
Alexis laughed huskily, tilting her head so his lips had better access. “I already know that.”
