There had to be an answer.

She just had to find it.

ACROSS TOWN IN HIShouse above Sunset Blvd on Sunset Plaza Drive, Angelo Frattiano was on the phone with his agent, Stewart Baxter. Stewart was Steven Levy’s cousin, and with great excitement Stewart had told Angelo about a script called Moonbeams and Fairy Dust.

“It’s one of the best scripts I’ve read in a long time,” Stewart exclaimed. “It could catapult you to the next level, and Steve is in negotiations with a major production company. Angelo, it’s going to happen.”

“Which company?”

“He won’t give me any details until the deal memo is signed. He’s so fucking superstitious it drives me crazy, but at least he let me read the script.”

“Can you send it to me?”

“It should already be in your dropbox, but you can’t breathe a word. Steve would break my neck.”

“You have no idea which company he’s talking to?”

“Well—I’m only guessing—but I think it might be Continental. I only say that because I know Steve and Zach Taylor get along really well, and Zach has the vision to appreciate a script like this.”

“I love Continental,” Angelo said enthusiastically.

“When you read it, think about who you see as the love interest. Amber is the character name. I’ll be curious to know what you come up with.”

“Will do, and thanks, Stewart.”

“Remember, not a word to anyone.”

“No problem,” Angelo assured him.

Ending the call and walking across to his large picture window, he stared out at the city.

The sun had just set.

Dusk was creeping in.

The millions of lights weren’t yet twinkling, and the sun’s glow no longer shone on the buildings.

“The City of Angels painted in grey,” he mumbled, “and where exactly are all these angels? Maybe they left this soulless place, or they’re hiding. At least I have something else to think about this weekend. Moonbeams and Fairy Dust. It has a magical name. I bet Stewart’s right. I bet it’s great. I can feel it already.”
