Sliding it on her finger, he abruptly clutched her hair, then leaned in and devoured her mouth.
“There,” he said breathlessly as he pulled back, “sealed with a kiss.”

“For your wisecrack? I’ll think about it, but I meant what I said. I love your quick wit, besides, you confirmed my choice of stones around the diamond. I considered green to match your eyes, blue, because my love for you is true, but then it came to me. They had to be red, and we both know why.”
