“Tia,” a voice called, interrupting her.
“That’s Adele, one of the models,” Tia said quickly. “We’ll have to finish this later.”
Stephanie turned and saw the four models walking in from the foyer.
“Thanks so much for doing this,” she said moving up to greet them. “Hopefully the rehearsal won’t take up too much of your time. Obviously we can’t go up there,” she said, pointing to the staircase that now ended on the ramp, “but there’s a back way. Follow me.”

IN A LARGE STORAGEroom off the kitchen, Matt was going through the liquor order that had just arrived. While he could have given the task to the bartending staff, experience had taught him to keep track of things himself. He had decided on three bars. One outside on the deck, one in the formal lounge, and another in the room where the fashion show would be held.
“Hey, Matt.”
Startled, he spun around, almost dropping the clipboard.
“Heather?”
“Sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
”How did you find me? This is the second time you’ve appeared out of nowhere.”
“I’m good at surprising people,” she said with a grin.
She had aI know something you don’t knowglint in her eye. Assuming he was about to find out what that something was, he took a deep breath and prepared himself.
CHAPTER THIRTY-FOUR
HEATHER COULDN’T READthe expression on Matt’s face, and the last thing she wanted to do was make him angry.
“Mandy works for dad all the time and told me where you were,” she declared. “But I didn’t mean to interrupt you. If you’re busy I can come back or wait upstairs.”
“No, it’s fine. I’m almost finished. I have three bars and I’ve been sitting here trying to decide what booze to put where.”
“I can help you with that,” she declared happily. “Dad puts mostly beer and wine on the patio. He stocks the expensive stuff and heavy liquors in the formal lounge, then has a mix of both in the smaller living room.”
“Huh, interesting, thanks, Heather. This is my first big bash and I want everything to be the way it should. It’s so great Tia Goldman and Stephanie Baxter asked if they could put on a fashion show. It’s bound to be a hit. Did you know they’re launching a lingerie line?”
