“I don’t know where to start.”

He grinned, looking far too full of himself for getting me to crack. “Like Gavin would say, the beginning usually works.”

“I don’t think he’s ever said that,” I argued.

“Well, something like it.” He waved me on. “Just try.”

I checked over my shoulders to see where the guys were, but they were at the opposite corner. “Can Luca hear us from here?”

We both watched to see if he would react to his name.

“I hope not. I don’t want him knowing about the money I stole from his wallet.” Sky bit back a smile.

Luca didn’t even flinch, so I continued. “You know that thing I said I wasn’t ready for?”

He narrowed his eyes. “A backhand spring on the trampoline?”

“No.”

“Driving to Florida over the summer?” He tried again before I could stop him.

“No, Sky.”

“Oh, learning to grill? I promise that explosion was a fluke.”

I reached out and grabbed his arm. “No, the other thing. The . . . um . . . intimate thing?”

“Oh. Yeah. Right.” He cleared his throat. “What about it?”

“I kind of . . .” Lost all courage and shut my mouth.

His eyes widened. “Did you?”

I shook my head, quickly. “No. Nothing’s happened.”

He exhaled and relaxed. “Then, did you change your mind?”

When I didn’t answer immediately, he reached out and took my hand, leading me even further from our classmates.

“Did you change your mind, Ave?” he asked with a mixture of surprise and excitement.

“No.” I needed him to get that through his head quickly. At least, I didn’t think I changed my mind. But after last night?

It hadn’t been as scary as I thought. Then again. It wasn’t real.

“So what is it?” He searched my face.

I swallowed. “I had a dream.”

He didn’t move. Didn’t even blink. “Okay?”

I pushed my hair behind my ears, checking to make sure we were still isolated as discreetly as possible. “A dream about that.” Well, kind of. I guess we didn’t make it that far, but I definitely knew the direction it was heading.

His brows rose slowly, and a wicked grin spread across his lips. “Oh, really? Who with?”

I covered my face. “Does it matter?”

“Of course, it does.” He paused, and I peeked through my fingers at him. “Was it one of us?”
