Niall ignored the compliment. He was rarely able to accept praise, but at least this time, he didn’t contradict Kaden.

“I also found a group that might be able to help us. Three mates.”

Kaden straightened. “Really? In the pack?”

He nodded. “I’m not sure if they’ll be willing to teach us, but it’s a lead.”

“That’s amazing,” I smiled at him.

“I don’t care if it’s one room with no furniture, it will just be nice to be in our own place.” Sai and Theo came out of the bathroom, changing the subject back to our new place.

Niall checked over the room before heading to the door. “It’s not that small, thankfully. There are two bedrooms, and Nancy asked for it to be cleaned so it will be ready for us.”

“That’s so sweet.” I shot Niall a grin, and he ducked his head.

Thankfully, the guys were strong enough to carry our luggage on the short walk over without having to drag it through the snow.

“Home sweet home,” Kaden called as he pushed open the front door to our little home.

The lights were on, and a fire already started, making it feel warm and inviting, as if the house were welcoming us in. Patchwork quilts decorated the couches, and handmade decor filled the walls.

“This is so cute!” I spun.

It wasn’t grand, or even as large as our dorm at school, but it was something we could call our own. I explored the small kitchen and made a note to find another chair for the dining table, so we could all sit at the same time.

“There’s two single beds in the first bedroom and a king in the second,” Theo called from the hall. “No more dog piles.”

Sai high fived him, but it made me kind of sad. Yes, living on top of each other left us with no personal space, but I liked the closeness. One room with one giant bed meant I knew where all my guys were without worrying.

“Saige, I put your bag in the king room.” Theo leaned against the wall. “Niall, yours is in there too.”

“Thanks.” I finished examining the small area and moved toward the couches where Kaden sat.

“We’d understand if you’re tired and want to relax.” Sai stepped forward, not blocking me entirely but redirecting my path to the living room.

I glanced from him to Theo. “I’m not that tired.”

“Might be nice to shower and lie down. Unwind.” Kaden jumped in.

What was going on with them? Did I smell? Did I look so bad they all thought I needed extra sleep?

“Okay,” I hesitated. Normally, I’d give them all a hug or kiss, but they were acting so strange. “Good night?”

“Night!” Theo moved away from the hall and waved me through.

“Night, Niall. See you guys tomorrow,” Sai called out.

“There’s room for at least three. One of you can sleep in there, too,” I said.

“Nah, you two can have it.” Kaden smiled from the couch.

Confused, I studied each of them before heading back. They were being unusually pushy about Niall and I sharing this room, even though one or two more of them could have comfortably fit.

I stepped into the bedroom, and Niall followed, shutting the door behind us.

“That was weird, right?”

“Weird? No, it was rather fortunate.” He smiled at me with one eyebrow raised, and I realized the guys had done this on purpose, possibly at his request. We were getting some much-needed alone time, and he wasn’t going to let it go to waste.
