But a part of me couldn’t help but wonder. Why?

“Someone stop her!”

“Grab her legs!”

The peace surrounding me was ripped away by the yelling. I opened my eyes, ready to beg the guys to be quiet. They stood around the bed with their arms raised like they often did in their rugby matches. What were they doing? Were they playing a game?

I wasn’t in the mood. It was too early, and I was still exhausted from last night’s activities with Niall.

“She’s calmed down. Look.” Sai pointed, which both confused and offended me.

Calmed down? I’d been asleep. How much calmer could I get?

“Saige?” Niall’s voice sounded off.

I rolled over, and he was clutching his wrist against his chest. Why?

I stared, and Kaden moved closer to him. “Hey, baby, you with me?”

Obviously. I tried to reply, but could only emit a raspy sound.

Shit.

I looked down and saw white fur and paws.

Double shit.

I shifted again.

“It’s okay,” Kaden rushed. “We just need you to shift back. If you don’t, we’ll have to use that syringe.”

I growled, remembering that awful feeling, then closed my eyes and tried to relax. When I opened them again, I checked my form. Hands. Feet. I sighed.

“I’m so sorry, you guys.”

I hated being out of control, and I really hated ruining the first morning in our new home. This was supposed to be a time to celebrate and enjoy our new privacy and space, but my wolf's unwelcomed appearance overshadowed everything.

“It’s okay.” Sai looked at Niall, and Theo pulled Niall’s wrist away.

“What happened?” I scooted to the other side of the bed, ignoring that I was very naked.

“It’s nothing,” Niall said through a wince.

“You bit him,” Theo spoke calmly, without a drop of accusation. He turned Niall’s arm over, revealing the open wound.

My stomach dropped. “No! Oh, god. What did I do?”

I tried to get closer, but Kaden wrapped his arms around me, holding me in place. “Let Theo work. Niall will be fine.”

I hurt him. After our amazing night together, I attacked him. Was this what happened when I let my guard down? When I allowed my emotions to take over?

Would he regret last night? He let me in, lowered his walls, and this was the result. What if he never wanted to be intimate again?

“He’s already mostly healed on his own,” Theo added. “I’m just making sure it closes properly.”

I slumped into Kaden. He sat on the bed and pulled me into his lap.

“I’m so sorry. I don’t know what’s going on.”
