I was also quite sure I would let him, and the reminder that we weren't alone was like a splash of cold water on the rising sexual tension between us.

"So where are we off to?" I asked instead, hoping my cheeks were not red from his innuendo.

I hadn't heard him instruct the driver and was curious now since we seemed to be headed to the posh part of town. Not that I would expect anything less from the sophisticated man sitting next to me.

"Perry Lane," he replied, casually naming one of the most expensive hotels that we had in the city.

I nodded and settled into my seat while Michael took out his phone and started typing. It didn't take long to get to the hotel, and my nerves resurfaced as Michael opened the door for me again. He never took his eyes off me as we got into the elevator and up to his executive suite. I had never slept in a five-star hotel before, and certainly not in such a luxurious suite. Wherever Michael worked, they certainly paid him more than my measly pastry salary. Like a million times more.

"Our food should be here shortly. I took the liberty to order while I was waiting," Michael said, giving me a pointed look, which made me laugh.

"It was only a few minutes more. Stop being a baby about it!"

"Can I get you anything to drink?"

I followed him to the well-stocked bar and sat down, watching him as he walked to the other side.

"Trying to get me drunk before dinner?" I teased.

He bent down to retrieve something, giving me a wonderful view of his toned ass. I caught his smirk when he turned around as if he knew what I had been looking at. I had been caught, but I didn't feel once ounce of guilt.

"Why would I do that? I want you sober for what's to come," he said, placing some coasters on the counter before putting the glasses.

"And pray tell, what is to come?"

He winked before replying. "Food and conversation."

"Is this the part where we do twenty questions?" I asked, watching as he mixed our drinks with a sexy flair. It made me wonder where he had learned to do that, college perhaps. His perfectly manicured hands suggested he didn't do much on his own anymore.

He checked his watch. "We might have time for ten."

I took a few seconds to think of what I wanted to know the most, and the first question that came to mind was if I could kiss him or not. I took a sip of the drink he made and smiled.

"This is amazing!"

"Thanks," he smiled and took a sip, his eyes never leaving my face.

"Where did you learn how to do that?"

"That's one," he pointed out, raising his drink in a toast. "I spent a summer break messing around in my cousin's bar. Guess the skills just stuck with me. My turn."

"Fire away."

"How often have you thought about kissing me since you walked through that door?"

I almost choked on my drink while he just smirked and waited for me to answer him. I cleared my throat and looked him right in the eye before answering.

"Maybe twice."

"Liar."

"It's twentyquestions, not twenty truthfulanswers. Now, my turn."

He downed the rest of his drink and placed the empty glass on the counter before closing the distance between us as he leaned in. He looked at my lips when I licked them nervously, but those blue eyes soon met mine, and I forgot what I had been about to ask. This close, his eyes looked darker and more deadly.

"How many times haveyouthought about kissing me?" I finally asked, hoping he couldn't hear my frantically thudding heart.

"As often as there are surfaces to lay you down on, or against, whatever your preference."
