“Pussy,” she calls out and starts to climb down. When she gets to the third step, I grab the ladder, “Hold on,” and slide it four feet to the left so she can go back up again. We repeated this around the dining room until we came to the door frame.

Once she finished stapling the last part, she climbed down and turned to face me.My hands are still on the ladder, closing her in.

“Don’t ever call me a pussy, again,” I stare straight into her dark brown eyes. The urge to lean in and kiss her is overwhelming.

I watch as she swallows hard, “Okay, sorry...I was joking,” comes out between her lips in a slow and choppy whisper.

“Who needs a drink?”Nicki interrupts and places fresh glasses on the table.

“Diesel, I think we’re done with the ladder,” I say and drop my arms to allow Kendra to move. She squeezes between me and the ladder, rubbing ever so gently against my groin, for the love of God.

KENI

My heart is racing.Being so close to his hard body makes my insides go haywire.Maybe it’s the alcohol, maybe it’s how we’ve gotten close over the last couple of months, or maybe it’s just that I’m done waiting.

We’ve been having a casual conversation all night. That is until I pissed him off.Not that it matters, but I was joking when I called him a pussy.I didn’t mean any harm.It was a challenge.I didn’t think he could do it, and yet he did.

When I climbed down, and his arms closed in on the ladder, trapping me, his face mere inches from mine, it’s when I knew.

I should have leaned slightly forward and kissed him, one kiss.

Nicki nudges me from the side, “Can you come help me?”she asks, and I follow her to the back hall by the bathrooms.I’ll do anything to distract myself from wanting to throw Xander down on the table and fuck him hard.

“Are you okay?”she wonders, and if I’m honest, “I’m buzzed. But I need more.”She nods, “Sit at the bar,” I’m instructed, but head into the bathroom to freshen up.

Once I plant my ass on the bar stool next to Xander, two shots and a beer chaser are placed in front of me.What looks like water in a pint glass rests by Xander.

“Are you quitting on me?”I question, grab a shot, and down it.

“If you’d like, I can drive your car home so you can enjoy the evening.”He offers, I reach back to locate my keys, but they’re not in my back pocket.I look around and then hear the jingle of them being shaken.Xander holds them out and shakes them again.

I shrug my shoulders, “Okay,” and down the other shot, then chase it with the beer.Music is playing, and as I glance at the television, we hold a light conversation about the students this past semester.

When it’s time to go, I stand and sway, “Well, shit...”I giggle, grabbing hold of the stool.Xander being the gentleman he is, reaches out, giving me his arm for support.Diesel asks if I’m okay, and Nicki follows us out of the bar.

“You sure you got her?”I hear her say.Xander helps me into the passenger seat of my car.

“I promise I’ll have her text you once she is home safe,” he replies.

“Thanks, we appreciate you looking out for her.”The door closes, and I can’t hear anything else.

My head is spinning.I need to get home.I lean over and reach for the steering wheel from the passenger seat when the driver’s side door opens, “Hey, what do you think you’re doing?”Xander says, pushing my hand away, and sits down, places the key in the ignition, and starts the engine.

“Home, I need to get home,” I tell him, resting my head against his shoulder and placing my hand on his thigh.
