“You went behind my back,” he started, his eyes growing heated. There was no anger to his words, and my traitorous body started to tingle with anticipation. “You need to be punished, Leda.”
Oh God. A thousand thoughts hit me at once, and the heat that only he could cause started to pool low in my stomach. Surely he couldn’t be thinking about that right now! I had just told him I was carrying his child. Didn’t he want to talk about it?
But when he closed the distance between us, I drew in a shaky breath regardless. “This place,” he murmured as he stroked my cheek. “This place is meant to disguise any sounds of what might be taking place.”
My knees weakened in anticipation. “What are you going to do?”
I wasn’t afraid. Lucas wasn’t going to hurt me.
No, he was likely going to punish me in a way that would have me begging for mercy.
His lips lifted in a devilish smile, and he dropped his hand.
“Me? I’m going to punish you. You are going to scream as loud as you can, Leda. And no one is going to hear you.”
