Chapter Seven

––––––––

They hadn’t expectedher to do something as stupid as go out into the night on her own when that was exactly what they should have expected from her. Why did they ever think she was capable of making rash decisions?

Now she was lost in near-freezing temperatures in the middle of the fucking night, filled with wild hungry animals. Fuck it.

The girl was nothing but trouble, Ryder reiterated. This time when they found her, he was going to be the one to punish her and he meant to use his belt. Hard.

“She better not be hurt,” Sawyer said. All three of them couldn’t hide their raising anger, frustration, and fucking worry that she may in fact be hurt.

He had grown up with these men. They were in perfect accord together which was the reason they were able to take on impossible missions and succeed. They thought the same way and their differences tended to bind them even closer.

They knew what the other one was thinking about.

Her.

She had consumed them. She filled their fucking heads to the point where the night before they had drunk themselves to sleep or risked dragging her from the bed and fucking her every way they could.

But they knew, without a doubt, she was a virgin. It was in the way she reacted to being touched. A fucking virgin under their roof who had the ability to turn their balls blue.

And they didn’t even know her name. As if not knowing her name would lessen this fucking hold she had on them.

It fucking didn’t.

They hadn’t realized it but the three of them hadn’t had a woman in longer than they could remember. It hadn’t been a need they wanted to fulfill. They had had their fair share of women in the past, but now, nothing stirred their balls.

Then she arrived.

The storm couldn’t end quickly enough so they could open the roads and send her packing again.

She might have thought they were sleeping, and if they were, she wouldn’t have stood a chance of taking even one step toward the back door without them stopping her in her tracks.

But they hadn’t been home. One of their young apprentice loggers, Jafe, on a snowmobile had come to their front door earlier that evening, begging for their help. His brother-in-law was drunk and tearing their house upside down, but he wasn’t alone. He had brought his motorcycle gang with him. With the worse of the storm still to come, they planned to stay.

But not if they had something to say about it. Storm or not.

Jafe’s sister and her kids had locked themselves in the bathroom but it wouldn’t be long before they knocked the door down.

They knew the pretty girl sleeping in their guest bedroom would be safe. No one who valued their life would come to the cabin and cause trouble. Everyone knew who they were and what they were capable of doing.

But clearly not her.

She had underestimated them despite the harsh punishment she had received for her insolence.

But the instant they had stepped back into the house, they knew she wasn’t there any longer, not where she belonged. As if she were already a part of them, her presence ran through their veins like their own blood.
