After my shower, I put on something comfortable and headed back into the living room to see if Lena had made any headway with that card.

Sitting next to her, I watched as the file after file was transferred to her computer. They were all there. Nitro had done it. I didn’t have to worry about the original files because I knew that Nitro would have burned them and then buried the ashes once they were all transferred.

When it was all done, Lena gasped. “Kitty, these are files on all the brothers. Every one of them. Past and present. What the hell?”

“I know,” I said, getting to my feet, pacing the small room as I nibbled on my thumbnail.

Okay, I got the files.

Now, what was I going to do?

I loved my brothers, but I refused to invade their privacy.

I couldn’t do it.

But I had to.

I needed the truth.

Without it, I was in trouble, and so was everyone else.

Caroline was smart, but Diablo was smarter. Together, they were unstoppable. They had many years to plan whatever it was they were going to do. I only had a few years. Yeah, I knew all the information and the players, but without proof, I was screwed.

“Kitty, we can’t look at these files. Only the President gets access to all this shit. What the hell is really going on?”

I needed to know who my biological brother was. I needed to find him. He was the key to this whole mess. Without him, nothing I did would work. I had considered just using my DNA, but I was a female. It wouldn’t work. I needed his. He was the only one who could stop this.

Looking at Lena, I quickly asked, “Is there any way you can scan those files for a particular date without actively opening each one?”

“Yeah, but why would I do that?”

“Because I asked you too.”

“I work for Reaper, Kitty. Not you. I helped you find Nitro because you looked desperate. But this? Reaper will have my patch if I do that.”

“Lena, I just need you to search for a date. That’s it.”

“What date?”

“April 9th, 1998.”

“Why?”

“Because one of those men is my biological brother, and I’m not talking about Savage. I need to find my biological brother before Caroline does and kills him.”

Lena took a few more minutes and really looked at me. I wish there was something more I could tell her to make her understand the severity of this situation, but I couldn’t. I was already in so much trouble for asking her to find Nitro.

“Fine,” Lena huffed and started typing on her computer.

Within seconds her computer dinged…1 result.

“Who is it?”

Lena typed some more, and before either one of us could say another word, we both looked at an unfamiliar name.

An hour later, I was sitting in the small living room, debating on what to do next. I knew what I wanted to do, but Lena wasn’t going to let me. I considered taking her down for a split second but then thought against it. Lena may be a woman, but she was deadly.

Plus, I needed her help.
