I giggled. I would never look at this couch the same way again. My fingers traced a line of the woven upholstery, my lips twisting a little. I wasn’t sure exactly when I’d realized that I wanted to see Brady again—this version of him, not the one I argued with every weekday. But tonight had been fun. The first fun I’d had in a long time.

Or really, he’d been the fun. And that was before the mind-blowing sex. Brady was charming, sexy…and that smile? Sigh. I turned to the hallway, wondering what he was doing.

As if summoned by my thoughts, Brady came around the corner wrapped in a thick black robe, looking like a commercial for a vacation resort. With a wide smile, he stopped a few feet from me and whipped a second, equally enormous robe from behind his back. This one was gray.

I laughed. “What is that?”

His amber gaze looked at the robe then back at me. “For you.”

“You’re kidding…”

“Absolutely not.” He looked down at the robe he was holding. “My mom got on a self-care bender. I got a robe each Christmas for several years. Someone should enjoy them other than me.”

Biting my lip to stop my laughter, I stared up at him. “Who are you?”

Brady tilted his head, a smile pulling at his lips. They were still swollen from my kisses. The thought sent a delightful tingle straight down my body once again.

“What do you mean?”

“Never mind.” I shimmied quickly off the couch and gave him a long moment to appreciate the full length of my body. Then I turned slowly and folded my arms into the sleeves of the robe. Dressing me, Brady’s hands lingered as he pulled the fabric up my back and over my shoulders.

Firm hands tugged my hair to one side, and his hot, soft lips pressed against the back of my neck. I shivered, letting my body sag back against him. I wanted him again, and somewhere deep in my body, there was an ache already building.

“Good?” His voice was husky.

“Very good,” I whispered back. “What now?” I echoed his earlier statement.

“Come with me.”

I didn’t hesitate a bit before I took his hand. Letting him lead me down a hallway, where he opened double doors into a vast master bedroom. And while I stopped to stare, he only laughed and pulled me to the side into a spacious, brightly lit bathroom. There, on the far side, a huge bathtub sat, filled with water that steamed ever so slightly.

“I didn’t want to presume bubbles.” Brady turned, and for a moment, he looked almost vulnerable.

I moved past him to the tub, letting my fingers break the surface, the ripples expanding in every direction. I grinned over my shoulder, freeing the tie on my robe. “Always bubbles, Brady. Always.”

His smile was devastating as he covered the room in two steps and took me once again into his arms. By the time we got into the bathtub, the water was considerably less hot.

I didn’t complain.

“I am woman. I am fierce. I am capable. I am kind. I am going to kick this day's ass.”

I ran my finger across the screen of my phone. “I am absolutely fucking late.”

One last twist of my honey blonde hair, and I slipped one of the bobby pins in my hands straight into the knot on my head. Turning side to side, I glanced over the rest of my form in the small bathroom mirror.

“She’ll do.” I smacked my lips loudly before I grabbed my heels and moved quickly through the townhouse.

It was Monday, and unlike ninety percent of the human population, I firmly believed it was the best day in the entire week. There were things to do, projects to conquer, and I was ready to make it happen.

A quick car ride later, I was strolling through the twinkling front doors of my favorite coffee shop, The Bay Cafe, a local chain here in San Francisco. I was later than usual, so the line in front of me was short. I quickly scrolled my email inbox as I waited for the man in front of me to decide how many shots of espresso he wanted in his iced coffee.

“Next!”

“Good morning,” I crooned softly, tucking my phone back into the pocket of my slacks. “I’d like two Americanos and an iced coffee with two pumps of hazelnut and sweet cream foam.” I eyed the line quickly. Behind me stood a shiny-eyed, bushy-tailed looking young woman. She was wearing a cute blue suit and looked like she’d woken up ready to conquer the world. Good for her.
