God, she hoped so.

Lines were forming all right.

They just weren’t from laughter. Or smiles.

Nope.

Her smile had ended about twenty minutes ago when everyone had found their seats, and she’d found herself seated next to Jeremy.

Yummy Jeremy, whose hotness was undeniable.

Stubborn Jeremy, who’d made it his life’s mission to take care of everyone around him.

Jeremy with the scorching irises that had threatened to melt her on the spot when she’d looked into them after he’d caught sight of her dress.

Heat had blossomed in her belly. Her knees had shaken.

Her breasts had swollen, nipples going sensitive against the material of her bra.

She’dneeded.

And he’d looked like he’d wanted to toss a blanket over her and bundle her from the room.

But that didn’t work for her. She didn’t want a man like Jeremy. She didn’t want to be a woman taken care of.

He was hot.

He kissed like sin.

But he wasn’t for her, and that was the end of it.

“Nice dress,” he murmured, lips at her ear, and that heat blossomed again, her nipples going hard, and it was good she was sitting down because her knees had definitely gone shaky.

All because of two words.

And his body nearby. And his scent. And the heat in his eyes, making it clear he thought she was hot as hell in her dress.

Which she knew.

But…it wasn’t her usual garb, so the fact that he appreciated it…

She shook that off.

“Nice tux,” was her only reply.

And then she picked up her wine glass and drank deeply.

Take the edge off.

Ignore him because her mouth would be full—

His leg brushed hers, that strong powerful thigh shifting against hers, and this dress didnothave enough fabric to prevent her fromfeelingall sorts of things she shouldn’t be feeling.

Because she was thinking of those strong legs and those legs spreading enough so that she could kneel between them—

And her mouth full in a whole different way.
