She contemplated carrying them in herself, but there were a lot of them, and it seemed like a bridge too far in terms of making apoint.

They were almost to the wide steps leading to the front door when Enzo slowed hissteps.

“What thehell…?”

Aria looked at him, then followed his line of sightupward.

At first she didn’t see anything unusual, the overcast sky an ambiguous series of gray clouds, one blending into theother.

A moment later, she picked up on a faint buzzing in theair.

And that’s when she noticed the dark speck approaching the house from thesky.
