He bent over her back and left kisses along her spine before slipping out ofher.

He pulled her into his arms and lay down, breathing heavy from the sheer power of their combined release. She rolled onto her side to face the fire and he settled in beside her, playing big spoon to her little spoon, savoring the pillowy swell of herass.

The fire burned low, the few remaining flames licking half-heartedly on a bed ofembers.

“Do you think anyone heard?” Jennasaid.

“I don’t fucking care,” Farrell said, kissing hershoulder.

“Lily andStella— ”

“Sleep like the dead,” Farrell finished. “And I have a feeling Nico and Angel were busythemselves.”

“Probably,” Jennasaid.

She snuggled back against him. He kissed the top of her head as she sighed in hisarms.

“We’re happy, aren’twe?”

The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them, and he immediately regretted the question. He didn’t need assurances fromJenna.

He knew they were happy. Knew she washappy.

Didn’the?

He thought she would laugh off the question. Instead, she seemed to freeze in his arms before she rolled over to facehim.

“I am,” she said. “Is there something you’d like to tellme?”

He smiled and kissed her, lingering over her lips, the musky scent of their desire still scenting the air aroundthem.

“Only that I love you,” he said. “And that nothing makes me happier than you andLily.”

She tucked her head into his chest, and he tried to ignore the feeling that there was something leftunsaid.
