“You’re an incredible woman,” I tell her honestly and she narrows her eyes at me and points a finger.
“Don’t suck up, it’s not becoming on you.”
This time it’s my turn to glare. Sucking up? That’s about enough sass.
I’m across the room in seconds and she squeaks as I press into her, forcing her to the wall. She struggles a bit, but my body has hers pinned. I’m sure she can feel my thick length pressed up between us.
“If I want to worship you, I’ll worship you,” I whisper into her ear, licking along the lobe and trailing down her neck. “This body is mine, and only mine.”

Pulling back I keep a hold on her hair and force her eyes to mine.
“Understood?”
She nods meekly and smiles at me.

I could ask the same thing.
Once I dealt with the rest of the delivery bullshit, I get the rest of the day to hole up with Ana. I briefly wondered if I should check in on Ethan and get a status update but decided to let it go today. I figured he was probably busy having the best day of his life, and really, so was I.
Ana was a breath of life I had never known before. She told me bits of the outside world, silly anecdotes mostly about people she’d met in her travels. I don’t ever remember smiling or laughing so much, and I told her as much.
“What the hell areyoudoing tomewoman?” I mutter.
“It’s been a long time since I felt safe or happy,” she admits. “It’s strange that here I am in one of the most feared places known to man and I feel safe.”
We’re lying facing each other on my bed, naked of course. She’s trailing fingers along some of the ink on my chest, I don’t know which piece. The tattoos I got mostly long ago when the adrenaline and violence addiction wasn’t as strong. The constant dull pain of the needle helped for a time and I didn’t much care what they put on me.
“I’ll never let anything happen to you,” I tell her, bringing her closer to me. She holds a hand up stopping me.
“You know you can’t promise that,” she says quietly, “sooner or later, someone is going to find out.” I shake my head, even though I know she’s right. For now, I’m getting away with hiding in here with her, but that won’t last for much longer. Tomorrow is the Pit Battle and I need to be present.
“I’ll keep you safe,” I insist again.
“Okay, Ax,” she says on a sigh, snuggling into my arms.
I’ll keep her safe. I have to.
Twenty Nine
Ana
I’m still half asleep when I feel rough hands running down my body. I don’t open my eyes but smile, humming lightly and wiggling into the touch. I don’t think I fully realize I’m awake until my thighs are roughly spread apart and a tongue comes down on my clit jerking me to full wakefulness. I cry out, my voice raspy and hoarse.

My smile stays as I watch Ax get out of bed and go about his morning. When he turns his back to me to grab something, I’m mesmerized by the rippling muscles along his shoulders, flexing and tensing as he moves. An increasingly familiar warmth forms between my legs.
