Oh, you've got to kidding me! That fucking poker game is still coming back to haunt me.
The dreadlocked guy, who I now realize is Leo, nods to someone out of view. I watch as a familiar bald headed figure comes into view and I suck in a gasp. Images of his gun pointing at my face sends panic through my blood. He gives a tiny, icy smirk at me and suddenly, I come to terms that our situation is more dire than I realized.
Slowly, I take in their jackets. Fuck.
These are the Norsemen.
"We just want to talk to her, no biggie," says Jimmy, and I don't doubt for a second that he's not telling the truth.
"Oh, fuck off," Butch responds. "Your guys are taking this too far. If they don't want to risk losing, then don't play the game."
No truer words had been spoken...
Jimmy's demeanor changes and I suddenly have the urge to run. They aren't leaving until they get what they want, and what they want is to make me pay.
The Rebels sense the shift in energy too, a few of them putting their hands in their jacket pockets, no doubt pressed against the metal of the weapons stored in there.
A few seconds pass, and no one speaks. The tension in the air is thick, and before I can even see it coming, Jimmy strikes out, punching Butch in the face.
Chaos breaks out. Suddenly, Rebels and Norsemen are tangled in brawls, punches being thrown left, right and center.
I hear Butch yell out for me to run, and to be fair, there's no telling me twice.
I sprint for the door of the bar, side stepping flying bodies as the two clubs fight. I'm almost there when the wind is knocked out of me as a body collides with mine. I hit the ground with a heavy thud, my hands scraping the gravel painfully.
Someone flips me onto my back and I look up in horror as Leo straddles me.
"Give me my money back," he hisses.
I struggle underneath him, trying to push him off. "I won that money!" He cuts me off with a punch to the cheek, my head snapping sideways from the impact.
I'm not a stranger to being punched, it's happened a few times in cheerleading. But not by grown biker men twice my weight.
It hurts and for a moment, I'm completely disorientated. A second punch gets me in the ribcage and I cry out, instinctively throwing a punch back.
I hit something but the growl that spills from his mouth worries me more than anything. I didn't just poke the bear, I fucking punched it.
Footsteps run towards me and I have a split second of hope that it's one of the Rebels, helping me get this buffoon off me. But, as I glance over to look. I find baldy staring at me with dark eyes.
His foot swings out before I have time to react, though his friend is still on top of me, pinning me down. A boot hits the side of my stomach, causing pain to shoot up my abdomen. White, hot tears flood my eyes as I desperately try to fight back, swinging out punches and kicking my legs.
Finally, I feel Leo's weight shift off me as he falls to my side. I scramble up, but someone grabs a fistful of hair, yanking me down. Rough hands grab the sides of my arms, digging in hard as I'm thrown into the wall of Wheels. I collide with it, falling down onto the gravel. I brace myself for a kick, but all I hear is grunting.
I look up, finding Butch and Vito have the Norsemen in headlocks, while swinging their free hands into their livers.
The bar door swings open near me and a panicked Volts looks out. He spots me quickly, cursing as he grabs my hand.
"Come on, inside now, Ry," he says in desperation, pulling me to my feet.
Several other bikers fly out of the bar door as we pass through. Volts carries me to a nearby booth and I collapse into the seat.
I can hear sirens in the distance but all I can focus on is the overwhelming pain in my body.
"Fucking hell," Volts yells, pacing back and forth. "Are you okay?" He stops, putting a hand on my back softly.
"Butch and V are out there," I cry out, pushing myself upright to look towards the door.
The sirens are louder and as if on cue, bikes start turning on, revving as people start taking off.
