Page 93 of Monstrous Truths

His hands cover my body, massaging his cum and his scent into my skin before they slip over my dripping cunt. Scooping up his release, he thrusts it back inside me. I whine but don’t protest, and when he’s happy, he blankets my body, curling around me and purring contently.

“My Tally, my mate,” he murmurs in my ear. My eyes don’t even open as I snuggle back into him, my body limp and still shivering from aftershocks.

“We are so doing that again…maybe when I can move.” I grin, making him chuckle in my ear.

“We have our whole lives, Tally, and I plan on making the most of every day I have with you, knowing how lucky I am.”

Well, fuck.

Tears roll down my cheek as I find the effort to roll and kiss him. “I feel the same way, Cato. Together, we can do anything, and I can’t wait to find out what that is.”

“Me too, mate,” he murmurs against my lips before I feel his tip up in a grin. “But for now…” He rolls me onto my back as I groan and try to smack him away.

“Insatiable. I created a monster!” I complain as he crawls down my body.

“Yes you did, Tally, and now it’s time you pay the price.”

FORTY-NINE

TALIA

We spent three days straight in our nest. Cato wouldn’t let me leave it, not even for food, and I couldn’t be happier. Every muscle in my body is sore and well used, but I’m grinning widely.

Cato announces we have mated, and the news is met with stunned silence. For a moment, I start to panic, but then roars of joy go up and we are surrounded by monsters celebrating and congratulating us. Cato drinks it up, proud of me as he presents me to them with nothing but joy, and I’ve never felt such acceptance and warmth.

I’m finally a part of a family.

I find myself sitting amongst them all, our table overflowing with gifts and food as they clamber to be close, welcoming me with open arms. It’s so different from when I first came and I hid upstairs in hopes of not dying. Now, I can’t imagine my life without such happiness and chatter. They see my differences, and some are still wary, but others celebrate it, and after a day spent revelling, I am forced to read bedtime stories to the kids and tuck them in before heading to my nest with my mate, where we spend the rest of the day exploring each other, lost in pleasure.

How could life get any more perfect?

The next morning, I leave Cato asleep in the nest and sneak out before the sun sets, focusing on the problems before me.

I know the humans wanted to breed humans and monsters and were altering us with drugs to do that. I know only some humans are compatible. I know they created monsters, including splicing new ones. They experimented on them and tried to make more…but this is something else.

I can almost taste it.

Before I know it, hours have passed and Cato forces me to stop and eat, and then we dive back in. He must feel my determination, as if my fingertips are reaching for the solution.

It takes two days, two days of hardly any sleep or breaks, until I figure it out. It just clicks, and I instantly sit back, horrified by what this means.

What they have done.

I look at Cato, barely able to say the words as shock and revulsion lodge in my throat.

“Tally, whatever it is, we’ll deal with it together,” he urges.

Nodding, I turn and explain what I’ve found, and when I’m done, he shudders out a shocked breath.

“If this is right…”

“Everything will change.” I nod. “Everything.”

“We need to call a meeting.
