The table fell silent as my brothers listened with interest.

“She’s a busy lady.”

I tilted my head to look the boy in the eyes, then smirked. “Looks like she rode your ass all day.”

“Since seven in the morning.” AJ was a good guy, young, did every shit job given to him without complaint.

“Lemme hear it.”

“Okay.” He exhaled. “She watered the flowers on her porch, then hopped into her car with her roommate and met the older broad she was with last night. They went to Sugar Bliss.”

“Sugar what?” Lynx screwed up his face.

“Bliss. Sugar Bliss is a bakery,” AJ explained.

“Oh, yeah, yeah.” Lynx raised his glass to his lips, smirking.

“Continue,” I snapped. Fuckin’ Lynx didn’t need to know every damn detail. There was only one bakery in Winters, for fuck’s sake. The asshole was really starting to grate on my nerves.

AJ nodded and exhaled another breath. “They sat inside for a while, eating and drinking coffee, then went to Heritage Elementary. When she stayed inside for over an hour, I went to check on her. She was cleaning a classroom. Lots of people were doing the same. Figured she’s a teacher there. Kindergarten from the looks of the room. ABCs and numbers on the walls. Her friends are probably teachers too.”

“Ain’t that sweet, a kindergarten teacher. Must like kids.” Track snorted.Asshole. He knew my thoughts on kids and white picket fences—they weren’t for me.

And yet, I needed to know everything about this woman. I hadn’t stopped thinking about her. It was stupid. I could see she didn’t fit in with the MC life, but I just couldn’t stop myself.

“Continue,” I grunted.

“From there, she and the roomie went to the bank, a salon—”

“Salon?” Images flashed behind my eyes of Madeline getting her long, gorgeous hair shaved off. Or what if she dyed it blonde? Shit, it would break my heart. Then I couldn’t wrap her magnificent mane around my hand and tug on it while I buried my cock deep inside her.

I shook myself out of the depressing thoughts running rampant in my head. “Is her hair short now or blonde?” My dick was on the verge of shriveling up if the prospect answered yes to either.

“Nah. Just a trim from what I could tell.”

Relief washed over me, and it shocked the hell out of every nerve in my body. What was going on?

“What else?”

“They all got pedicures. Afterward, she and the redhead went to the market. She hung out at home for a couple of hours, doing household chores—vacuuming and shit—from what I could tell from the front window. Later in the day, she took a plate of treats to her neighbor.”

“Neighbor?”

“Yeah, a little white-haired lady. They chatted for a good long time sitting in lawn chairs in the yard and eating cookies.”

“You were watching her?” I hiked a displeased brow.

“N…no. Just occasionally glanced. After visiting with the old woman, she went on a two-mile run,” he paused, gulping, “it was kind of hard to stay out of sight following her down a dirt road not far from the trailer park.”

“And?” I barked, chest squeezing tight. Running alone on a dirt road was not safe with the Dirty Hunters in the area. Shit! My pulse kicked up a notch.

“She returned home and stayed in until I left.”

“All right. Tomorrow I want you to do a few drive-bys and report to Track.”

“Going somewhere, Prez?” AJ scratched the back of his head.

I glowered at him for asking a question about my personal shit. “Get gone, prospect.”
