“Don’t lie to me, Angel. I don’t take well to it. In fact, I don’t take to it at all. Be straight with me. Always.”

The earnestness in his eyes speared into my core. I felt like I could be honest with him, but I didn’t want to come across as insecure or weak. A man like him should be with a confident woman. But why should I care one way or the other if this was only a fling?

“What are we doing here? I mean, you with me. Look at us. We’re about as different as the Easter Bunny and the Big Bad Wolf.”

He smirked. “Getting to know each other better. Thought that’s what you wanted.”

“I didn’t think this was the sort of thing a biker did. Date. Much less an MC’s president.”

“Here we are,” Trina chimed, placing our drinks in front of us. “Ready to order?”

I glanced at the menu I hadn’t even opened.

“We need a few more minutes,” Storm replied, annoyance in his voice, eyes locked on me.

“Sure thing!”

“You’re right. We don’t date. We pillage and plunder and fuck. We fuck a lot. Whenever and whoever we want.” His voice had an unapologetic edge. “I don’t know why the fuck I’m here with you, other than I want to be. I want to know you. You okay with that?”

I gaped, my heart pounding against my ribs. For as close as Storm was to me, he had to have heard its rapid thumping. Shoot, he probably could smell my damp panties again.

“I’m… I’m okay with getting to know you while we’re at the lake. No expectations.”

“Christ, Angel.” He hissed as if trying to remain calm. “I have all kinds of expectations.” He claimed my mouth again, hand gripping the back of my neck, the other brushing over my stomach to my hip, tugging me to him.

I moaned against his mouth, hooking my arms around his neck. This man played me like a fiddle with his dirty talk, controlling nature, and sizzling kisses.

I was doomed if I continued anything more beyond our time at the lake. But I wanted to give myself two days of living in the moment with Storm.

Come Tuesday, I’d get back to my normal, everyday life.

Madeline was shutting me out. Didn’t she feel how fuckin’ fantastic the chemistry was between us? Was it the club or me being a biker, pulling her away? I couldn’t blame her if she didn’t want to be part of the MC life.

The thought of letting her go gutted me. Some crazy shit there. How the fuck could a woman I’d only spent a few hours with affect me so much?

After I’d kissed her senseless and her second rum and coke, Madeline loosened up. We ate and talked about nothing too personal, just music, movies, and other shit while chowing down on some of the best steaks I’d had in a long time. It was nice. She was easy to talk to and a beauty to look at.

But having her in my arms now, swaying to a country song I didn’t know, wasspectacular.

I got the feeling she expected me to flirt with the women working here. Not fuckin’ happening.I only had eyes for Madeline. If I wanted to, I could have lined up a few warm bodies for my pleasure. Probably would’ve done just that a year ago.

Jesus, I hated her thinking I’d want another woman. Didn’t she know she was gorgeous? And freaking irresistible?

Men continually checked her out. Several times I wanted to knock some teeth across the dance floor laden in sawdust. I would’ve if Madeline had noticed them, but she was oblivious. It made me want her even more.

This woman didn’t play games. She wasn’t batting her eyelashes or puckering her lips for attention or to make me jealous. I’d never met a sweeter, more authentic woman.

“This is nice,” she said softly. If my cheek wasn’t pressed against her forehead, I wouldn’t have heard her.

“It is.” I kissed her temple. “I want to get you alone, Angel. I’m tired of men drooling over you.”

She giggled, tossing her head back. “Stop it. You’re crazy.”

She honestly didn’t believe every fellow in the building was sporting wood for her.
