I glanced over my shoulder, giving the DJ a slight nod. A deep breath held in my lungs.I can do this. The music started, men whistled, and the crowd roared—stupid drunks. For all anyone knew, I sucked balls. Luckily for them, I didn’t. I was damn good. There weren’t many things I was confident about, but my ability to sing was one.

I can do this. Get into the zone and let the people blur into nothingness. I’ll be fine.

Storm

My sights landed on the reason for all the enthusiastic activity. I sucked in a deep breath as my stomach tightened.

Long, dark hair, ivory skin, and an hourglass shape took to the stage in a white sundress. Heat raked over my skin. She must’ve not known the overhead lighting would illuminate the curves of her inner thighs, leading up to the promised land.

Fuckin’ hell, I had an instant boner. The heavens opened, shining a spotlight on her petite, lithe body. I blinked, swearing I saw a halo above her head. She fisted a piece of her skirt and her powerful voice knocked me back to reality. This angel belted out the song like a professional.

Standing like a moth drawn to a flame, I approached the stage where this sultry singer swayed her hips. Her eyes were closed, cheeks rosy, and Christ, she poured everything she had into her performance.

Did she have any idea she was sending off come-fuck-me vibes the way she shimmied her shoulders and puckered her lips?

Minerang in my head.M-I-N-E.

“Hey, Prez, where you goin’?” Lynx hollered. I ignored him, focused on every fucker in front of the stage, throwing out catcalls and propositions.

She was going to be mine—even if only for tonight. Carla became less than a distant memory.

I assessed the drooling assholes, vying for her attention, stalking to the side of the stage where she’d exit.

She tossed her long brown hair off her shoulders, and her eyes flashed open, looking over the tops of the crowd. There was a storm brewing in her sparkling eyes. Goddamn, she was beautiful. My gaze traveled over the thin straps of her sheer white dress to her full bust, then her hips and down to the hem. A little farther were gorgeous knees and brown, well-loved western boots with a cross stitched on the front.

Shit, shewasa real angel.

My heart thudded against my ribs, rattling me to the core. My cock painfully strained in my jeans. I hadn’t felt this alive since…well, maybe ever.

As the song neared the end, two women blocked the exit, dancing and cheering. Friends of hers, I assumed. I hung back against the wall, crossing my arms over my chest and waited.

What did I intend to do?

What did I want to do?

Sink my aching cock into her warm, wet pussy. This beauty looked different from most of the women around—with her dark hair and genuine smile—but I sensed everything about her was different. I couldn’t explain this draw I felt toward her. I should’ve walked away. Erased her from my memory. But I’d do no such thing. For the first time in months, I wanted to be inside a woman’s heat, more than in her mouth.

Suddenly the crowd erupted.Angelcurtsied, holding a piece of her dress out with a radiant smile. She shuffled across the stage, then hopped down the stairs.

This woman shined brighter than the sun. The sheer force of her joy knocked the air out of my lungs.

“Girl, you rocked it.” A redhead hugged Angel and bounced on her toes, jostling my little songbird all around.

“She sure showed us,” the older woman added.

“Booze helped. Damn, it’s exhilarating being up there.” Angel fanned her face, and her eyes met mine. They were as blue as the clearest skies. She didn’t pull her gaze away.

She stared back.

Fuck, yeah.

I issued her a single nod. In return, I got a full-on million-dollar smile. Complete with straight, white teeth behind her teasing lips. Her friends tugged her away to a table in the back. I followed Angel, ready to pounce on any motherfucker who dared to lay a finger on her.

Some guys stood, giving her a standing ovation. Older guys. Boring as fuck looking guys. She bowed to one, then the other. Grabbing what appeared to be a glass of water, she fanned her face again and talked a mile a minute. I longed to hear what she was saying over the music.

Damn, she was a gorgeous little creature.
