It was almost eleven when the guys and I returned to the clubhouse. I needed a drink before I took my woman to bed. She was seated at the bar with her usual rum and coke and Tina beside her.

I strolled up behind her, snaking my hands around her waist, and dropping my lips on her neck.

“Ah!” She twisted halfway around. “Oh, God. Storm.”

I raised an irritated brow. “Why did you startle? Has someone messed with you?”

She hooked an arm around my neck, pulling me toward her. “No one has bothered me. Kiss me.” She puckered her luscious lips.

“Missed you, Angel.” Our lips connected and I moaned, delighting in her tongue. Kissing her was everything.

I reluctantly pulled back, feeling a stirring in my pants. “Let me get a drink and we’ll go upstairs.”

“Perfect.” She curled into my side.

“What can I get you, Prez,” Copper asked.

“Whiskey and IPA.” I turned to my girl, burying my hand in her long, silky hair. She fluttered her baby blues. “How are you?”

“Okay. Just here with Tina.”

I nodded to Tina. “Raul should be here any second. He was behind me coming in.”

“He texted he’d be late.” Tina sipped her drink.

Copper set my drinks in front of me. I tossed back the shot and relished the burn.

I gazed into Madeline’s expectant eyes. “Let’s go.”

She smiled, grabbing her drink. “I’ll see you tomorrow Tina.”

“Bye, hon. See ya, Storm.”

“Later, Tina.” I glanced around the bar at my brothers as we left. They were doing their thing, drinking and shit. Not me though. After the night I had, I needed quiet and my woman.

I locked the bedroom door, exhaling.

“Want me to start the shower for you.” Madeline smiled, stroking my chest.

“In a minute.” I took her hand, leading her to the bed. Taking her drink, I set it on the dresser with mine. Earlier today she asked about going to her house to pack a bag. I put her off, telling her I’d take her tomorrow. Of course she didn’t understand the severity of the situation with Nancy and Ava. It was time I told her.

“Is something wrong?” Concern marred her beautiful face as she sat.

I kissed her hand and dropped to my knees, between hers. “I want to tell you about what happened to Nancy and Ava.”

“They were beaten at The Bullet.”

“Yes, they were. But that’s not all.”

She shifted on the bed, eyes locked on mine. “Wh… what else happened?” Her eyes teared up, as if she knew.

I kissed her hand again, rubbing my thumb over it. “There’s no way to soften this, baby. You need to understand how dangerous shit has gotten around here. So you don’t go off on your own.”

“Just tell me.” She swallowed, holding my gaze.

“The Hunter’s SAA, he’s responsible for the safety and security of his club. He’s the same guy at Sugar Bliss on the Fourth of July, remember him?”

She nodded, biting her bottom lip.
