“A month. A month from today, I’ll get it if we’re still crazy about each other.” She stroked my cheek.
“I’m more than crazy about you, Angel.”I’m in love with you. But I couldn’t bring myself to give her the words yet. Maybe waiting a month was a good idea. “I’ll give you a month.”
“Thank you, Kaleb…” She pecked a soft kiss on my lips. Damn, I liked hearing her say my name. “So, will Sugar be here tomorrow?”
I was okay with the subject change. I didn’t want to pressure her… too much. I rolled out of bed to free my dick from the latex. “Yes. You’ll finally get to meet her and the boys. She’s going to love you.”
Madeline furrowed her brow as I entered the bathroom. “I hope so. I can tell her opinion matters most to you.”
“It does. But I’m not worried and you shouldn’t be either,” I hollered, disposing of the vile, suffocating wrap. I took a piss, then washed my hands. Madeline had stopped talking, but she picked up where we left off as soon as I exited the bathroom.
“How do you think she’ll take the news of the attack and all the crap with the Hunters?”
I slipped back into bed and tugged her into my arms. “Not well. She’ll be furious with me for not telling her, but she’ll get over it.”
“Mr. Overconfident, you don’t fool me. I can feel your body tensing under me. Two women were attacked, one raped.” She shuttered against me, but I knew it wasn’t fear that made her body shake. It was anger. “No woman would take it lightly. I just don’t want her going off on you. I might have to say something.”
